This song was me to a "T" when I was an alcoholic. I can literally relate to each thing he says in this song cause I was that guy. I hurt a lot of people emotionally and physically and screwed up a lot of relationships and my own life due to drinking. Because I could never drink casually, when I drank I drank to party. It could be my neices birthday, a wedding or a cookout, the setting didn't matter to me, If you see me with a beer or a drink in my hand you could guarantee that I would be blacked out by the end of the night no matter what the occasion was. Now, I'm a year and a half sober and feel so much better. I mixed myself a drink like 2 months ago, took a sip and spit it out and dumped the rest down the drain because liquor doesn't even taste good to me anymore.

You know I love watching your reaction but this guy is just overrated! There's plenty of songs from the 80s and 90s that have the same story and explain it even better than he does. No he is underrated. He should be bigger. He has fans all over the world and his fans range from little kids to 80 year olds. Tom has his own lane and no one does things the way he does.
