As a black man I believe anyone who got offended by this thought they heard But didn't listen. He dismantles the haters with this house (whiteboy response) and kills it with metaphors and lyrical imagery. Enjoy. HOG is family
Yes Sir Mr. Farley, I’m a backwoods white male, spent 21 years active army as a combat medic, my wife of 17 years is “blacktina” lol we have 4 amazing children together and Tom is one of the few we play when we are hanging out as a family and it helps them understand the importance of treating people as you want to be treated. My kids are hella mixed and we live back in the country now, if anyone treats them any different for their race they will not get away with it. Much love brother!
Guys, there is a behind the scenes video for this video where Tom explains the reason for making this song. He actually asked all the extras to come in and listen to the song and gave them the opportunity to ask questions and choose not to participate instead of just having them show up and upset them.. You guys should watch that so you understand what prompted him to make this song. It is intersting.
@Jane- Tom's out here single handedly building bridges that the elitist and the maintream media have destroyed. Much love and respect for Tom MacDonald.
I'm Italian and Spanish but labeled whiteboy my family came over in the 1930's my daughter is half black even though she has blonde hair and blue eyes. I was definitely raised not to discriminate against anyone because of the color of their skin. I spent most of my 20s in prison things are a bit different inside which sucks but it's a fact I was hated by whites because I would hang out with blacks I was hated by blacks because I was white. I just hope we can all come together. E Pluribus Unum. Out of many, one.
Awesome input fellas. Now you have to do "This House" and you will find out why his fans love and respect him so much. Also, you don't have to react to it, but there is a behind the scenes on this video that dives deeper into why he made this record and shows his perspective really well. Highly recommend you check that out. Looking forward to seeing you guys go down the rabbit hole 🤘🤙🙏 #HOG
You guys are the first reaction I've watched that picked up the King or Kennedy line followed by the gunshot. You got my subscription. Love your insight and perspectives. Thank you.
FYI Alot of the ppl in this video were real neighbors/friends of Tom's when he & Nova actually we're poor and lived in the hood !!! H.O.G. Fam forever 🤗❣️🤗
This is the video that truly opened people up to Tom I have been following Tom McDonald for several years now and he is so passionate about what he raps about and he also Singh's weight you get to his videos of him actually just singing I will have to go back in look and find which one it is that impacts a lot of people
Love your response. You also can't tell whose ancestors are actually from here. My family was never here during slavery. The got here in the 20's from Greece.
I can see the depth of your thoughts ingrained in your faces at the end of this song. Thanks for hearing and understanding. These conversations will build the bridge that too many people from both sides have been trying to tear down. America was founded on Christian principals and has lead to the abolishment of slavery, but righteousness has left this place before the work was finished. 😞
I love your reaction to this song, you really listened and understood what Tom was saying. There are powers that be in this world that want to add to and keep racial fires burning because it suits their warped agenda. We all need to unite and throw water on the embers, it is the system who is against us all, let's fight back together. #hog4life Looking forward to more of your Tom reactions.
Great reaction 👍 👍 👍 HOG 4EVER 💖 💪 👍 Tom is the one and only true original rapper. He is rapping about the things happening in the streets, cities, counties and country (system). Just like the old school original rappers from the old days. Greetings from the Netherlands.😎
Tom has some really great songs about coming out of the haze of too many drugs. He's got a couple older songs, about 5 years old that kind of explain how he's come to the place he is in now. You don't have to react to them but I would recommend at least checking out If I Change and Wannabe. They're really well made, tell a story and can inspire those in dark places to step back into the light.
This is a fantastic reaction guys 🙏 If you're interested in his views on Black Lives Matter/All Lives Matter then you gotta check out 'No Lives Matter', but if you want to hear some serious rapping skills then it's gotta be 'No Response'. You're honestly spoiled for choice with Tom.
Check out the horrible song “I’m not white. I’m Jewish.” Also, Professor Tony Martin’s lectures “The Jewish role in the African slave trade.” Further down the rabbit hole “1666: Redemption Through Sin” by Robert Sepehr.
This one was the song that solidified Tom in my eyes. I watched the responses to it and the amazing conversations that began to take place and understood that he was important to share. My two adult sons, my nephew and my three grandkids all started following him at this point. 🤣 We all still wait for the next song to come out all these years later. #HOGfam
Yall are the type of people that can make real change in the world. Open minded. Really brings me hope with today climate. Yall have good heads on your shoulders.
I would check out "Before the Shoot Whiteboy", he explains why he did this. He got so much hate for Dear Rappers saying he was a racist for calling out rap culture.
I've seen tons of anti white racism in my country and I've been affected by it too. It doesn't change how I think about all black people so I expect the same from any intelligent black person who had troubke with some whitey. Black or white, the Truth is... racism doesn't have colour, it just hates it. Black or white, I see people not colour. Its only those saying how it is who you can trust. TOM is the God of honesty and the most legitimate bringing together of all races in existence. People like swlf righteous president Biden tell us hes the cure to racism whilst simultaneously ignoring actual racism. The people who cure racism are the ones who want to debate it without fear. Black/white you're all ma family. Wish we could kill the left/right political nonsense forever.
The fact that a person can be racist and say "shut up white boy" gives me a odd feeling... why cant we go back to just proving what indivitual human is the best.. because regardless of color, those with CHRIST are the best... Thank goodness there are "SOME" good white people.. and I'll add some good people of color... (if you call me racist, I'll say touche..)
If you want more of his perspective on why he made this song, check out his Before the Shoot video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2zqqAh8LMkM.html
One of the only reactions that mentioned classroom. I always wondered why no one mentions that this was shot in classrooms. Is he trying to get the conversation going about what we are teaching in schools?
It also makes it easier when you accept that all our ancestors took part in slavery, rape, murder, pillaging, exploitation etc, none of us have the perfect bloodline.
I just want to say that I've seen so many reactions by others to this song and although others were somewhat okay with the song, a lot of people of color and or white took it the wrong way. I want to thank you guys for having an open mind and seeing the bigger picture. I (non white colored male) myself am married to a white woman and we have two beautiful babies so i feel this song on a deep level. Keep it up with your reactions you guys are awesome 🤘🏽
Before I watch it, please follow up with 'This House', which was a reaction to the haters on this video This is why Toms messages are so important... it opens up real discussions instead of emotional reactions, through people who are open minded enough to actually listen to the message. Great reaction!!! #HangOverGang
As a white boy (third generation immigrant) one of the only reasons I'm glad that COVID hit during my last year of college and switched us all to Zoom meetings instead was so I wouldn't have to be in the same room as people. I was taking an Afro-futurism class (black sci-fi) and tried bringing some counterpoints like these up and was NOT received warmly. God bless Tom MacDonald and y'all. You got some of the best reaction videos for him I've seen so far on my binge watch. You show authenticity and humility in your directions. Keep it up fellas. Peace.
I loved your reactions and how you all really listened, and thought deeply about his message and what he was saying. I just subscribed to this channel. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
Soooo happy to see yalls openess to this. I honestly think more black people have accepted this song than liberal white people 🤯. The FACT is, only about 5% of all whites in this country have ANY ancestor's that were slave owners. Many come from poor white people who died working hard jobs in mining towns, building the railroads, building our cities and skyscrapers. Think about that! MILLIONS migrated here in the late 1800s into the 1900's to escape economic hardship and communism and facism. Many white americans have ancestry that died in communism , famine, etc. People of Irish descent fled here not only because of religious persecution but because of entire towns being pillaged and captured and then enslaved by Northern Africans (approximately 1.5 million anglo saxons from Ireland, UK, scotland etc were enslaved between 1500-1900). People don't seem to understand that MILLIONS of people migrated here AFTER slavery , people escaping terrible lives and people who lost loved ones in Communist camps, facist concentration camps, slavery, religious persecution etc. Right now we are going through a communist Revolution (again).. I just finished reading the book "color, comminism and common sense" published by Manning Johnson in 1958, he was an african american Communist in the USA for over ten years. Every person should read it, he exposes what he learned and how the black community is being totally exploited and duped by liberals, progressives and commies. What we are going through right now is NOT new, we are repeating history, except this time it's not the USSR (communist Russia) driving the hate and divisive narratives, it's CCP China. So much of what we are being told about America is EXACTLY what china teaches it's Citizens so they grow up hating america. There is simply no way the WHOLE society is racist.. racism narrative is a guise for anti-captialism. When you hear institutional racism it really means capitalism, and when you hear "equity" it really means communism/ "equal outcomes" not "equal opportunity." Why do people paint groups as a collective monolith? Like Tom points out in this song? Because that's communism, where the individual doesn't matter but your group identity does. Tom is pushing back on this so hard and it's SO NEEDED because our culture is RAN by commie globalists , in music and hollywood and media who don't do anything but use race to push their agenda , which will be hell for everyone if it succeeds. Tom isn't doing anything but speaking truth, so why is that so revolutionary?
I look white but am Persian. I had to take a Race and Equity training in Nov 2020 mandated by my employer. The instructor referred to me as white (she was pointing at people as an example for a scenario) and I asked why she called me white. She looked at me but I didn’t let her answer i followed up asking “are you judging me based on how my skin appears?” She moved on without answering. All I’ll say is I was suspended a week from work (I work for a east coast state) for inappropriate conduct. My Boss said I won’t be involved in sensitivity trainings in person - I’ll have to take online courses in the future. True to her word I have had to take 3 online courses. :-/
Most people didn't own slaves just the few rich & powerful which included some Black slave owners otherwise Black Americans would overwhelmingly be the majority population even back then when the population was much smaller. Also *600,000+* people died to free the slaves most of whom were Young White Men. Lastly after hundreds of years of immigration (legal and illegal) which is the reason the the Hispanic population far out numbers the Black population. There are very few who are direct family descendants of slave owners & even slaves when compared to the population as a whole
You guys talk like every white persons ancestors had slaves. Some things to think about. A lot of white people came to america after slavery ended. A lot of Germans and Scandinavians for example. I am as white as a person can get but none of my ancestors had anything to do with slavery, they didn't get here until the very late 1800s. Also, you should know that just because you're black doesn't mean your ancestors didn't have slaves. At its height, 28% of free blacks owned slaves. The first person in the U.S. to own a black slave was actually a black man, Anthony Johnson. That's right, it was a black man that started slavery in the U.s.. One of you might be the descendant of a slave owner.
Love the reaction. However I will say, towards the end when you were explaining how he was in a classroom, and how if a white person said what he was saying, you said he was basically saying "I'm sorry I'm related to these people, but that's not me." Now I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am. But the way that is phrased sound like "I'm sorry that I'm white, I'm not like these other people in the past who did these terrible things." Which Tom is saying he isn't like the past people who did the bad stuff. But he isn't sorry he is white. He said earlier in the song "I refuse to feel ashamed cause of my pretty blue eyes." I could very much be wrong in how I understood what you were saying, and if I'm wrong please correct me. But all in all, that was a cool reaction.
I've had a funny experience with a group of African dudes (a friend of mine is from Ethiopia) but after some drinks everyone got a little boisterous so people said where they were from, so one stood up and said he was from Kenia really proud of his heritage and like that everyone did that... Eritrea, Kenia, Ethiopia, Ivory coast.... then then it was my turn being white from the Netherlands.... i stood up and did the same, claiming not to be proud of certain era's.... instantly got labeled as a racist... with my friend explaining to them that is not the case... i just did exactly the same as they did... And even a white guy can be proud of certain aspects of their heritage... they did understand tho, and we had some good discussions after that about everything which was a breath of fresh air. Moral of the story, if we only cared to see each others view points (don't have to agree) and just listen... we'll get rid of all bullshit....
