They knew ! George Harrison and him were good friends with their wonderful senses of humor! We’ll know we are in heaven when we see these two dudes hanging out by the cloud bar❤😂
i hope u beat it. try carnivore diet. cutting out sugar starves cancer cells. Look up Ancel Keys. he has probably killed most americans in history when he invented the food pyramid. cancer didnt exist before he came along...
I would absolutely love it if we would continue advocating for Peace. So many folks still sadly fear it might lead towards the reign of an antichrist. But we're getting to the point where we can't just allow corruption to win. We must side with something. I'm at Peace with myself but that's not going to happen with some others sadly.
💔My heart goes out to you, and my prayer is that God will comfort you, altho can’t imagine the grief you must have after experiencing the death of your child! God bless you!💔🙏🏻☦️🕊
Yes. And this was Tom Petty fighting for musicians against the music industry...fighting the music industry itself with the weapon of music! Wait, isn't that like some kind of oxymoron, like Military Intelligence and jumbo shrimp?
Me in 2024 I'm sixty fucking two years old and I am never backing down Tom Petty will always be alive in his music but Tom was right there is no easy way out but best you can do is go down fighting
7 years Ago my doctor told me I had parkinson's. I did as I was told and gradually deteriorated. Recently I've BEen Evaluated by Another doctor and found to have Lyme disease Which Is Curable . I begin therapy immediately And feel hope for the 1st time in years. "I'll stand my ground and i won't back down."
Hooray for right diagnosis and blessings on your healing journey! This experience is all too common, unfortunately. I had a raft of crap diagnoses over 25-30 years until Lyme was found. My practitioners tell me I am at 90-95 percent better now. Yes!!!! Kudos to Stephen Harrod Buhner and his awesome book, Healing Lyme (2015 ed) and my wonderful practitioners!!!
My wife passed away 2 weeks ago and this song was our marriage anthem. I miss her so much. I ❤️ U and miss U so much baby, I'm trying so hard to not back down.
A song written all generations. Petty had a gift to see things others didn't and make a song a song about it. This is the most amazing song as it doesn't involve love, a car, a girl, ... It is a song about life and how to live it.
As a kid in the late 70s and 80s I didn't understand the meaning of Tom Petty's song " Refugee". Now it's crystal clear. Cool name by the way. I used to breakdance to Tour de France in 83 and 84. If you like that kind of music check out Giorgio moroder.
What a kick in the teeth. As a kid in the 50's and 60's, I had to wait decades to hear this for the first time. I've always understood it. Here's where you say, "OK Boomer."
40% of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, 50% of the Beatles, and 60% of the Travelling Willburys ... only a few deserved this lineup on Planet Earth!!! RIP, Tom!
@Kevin Chisholm I would have given both my testicals to see him live. It’s a shame god took him away before I could experience that. LONG LIVE TOM PETTY🤘🏻🤘🏻
I agree 100% Never back down, stand your ground. I'm just going to sit here and rest a little first. It's been a long ride. We all love and miss you Tom Petty.
My husband of 10 years died in a freak accident........ in a world that keeps pushing me around... I'll stand my ground and I won't back down.... I miss you so much JB. 😢
This released recording; also fits, the 'Bravestarr' Dark Child/Zardeth soundtrack. Dark Child/Zardeth is a 2 year old snake 🐍 boy; with 13 faces on his skull, he's the evil overlord of the planet called New Texas.
He didn't just get them for the video. He was good friends with them, and Jeff Lynne, producing some of the most iconic music we know with them, both them writing for his band and him writing for theirs.
I wish I had a legitimate team to help keep me up. But they all ran off. 100% of 'em. It's been disconcerting and sorrowful, but at least I know what it means to suffer and endure in silence and solitude. "Reflect upon the Past. Embrace your Present. Orchestrate our Futures." --Artemis 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind’s journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul’s fate revealed. In time, all points converge, hope’s strength re-steeled. But to earn final peace at the universe's endless refrain, We must see all in nothingness... Before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ --Diamond Dragons (series)

I had never heard of this tune, as an immigrant who wasn't exposed to this kind of music growing up, but in the US, I started taking care of someone of the same age as I am and he played this tune always, he had Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He wasn't ever gonna back down. He passed on two years ago, every time I hear this tune It brings a tear to my eyes. We saw Tom together just before Tom passed too. Thank you for this tune, and I also won't back down!
My Dad died recently. I know for a fact he loved this song. And I have this memory of driving with him and listening to this entire album of Tom Petty. I keep thinking of this song and am reminded of him. This is my cathartic moment I'm allowing myself. So this is for you Dad. I really miss you.
Tom's Version Is Full Of Unbreakable Hope And Courage,While Johnny's Is A Man Who Has Lost Everything And Has That Small Spark Of Life Telling Him Not To Give Up.
5 years after you're gone Mr. Petty, and you are still inspiring people with fatal illnesses, soul-crushing addictions, and other misfortunes everywhere with this song. Godspeed to you, sir!
@@laurieaylmore7676 Yeah I suppose he did but, this song has still helped a lot of people. The reason he wrote this song wasn't for drugs, it was when a deranged fan tried to burn his house down while he and his family were inside in the middle of the night.
This song became my personal anthem after I was diagnosed with a lifetime of chronic, disabling pain. Sometimes in life, "there ain't no easy way out."
To all my fellow brothers and sister all over the world fighting depression. Fight on, never back down. Do not ever let fear win. Keep fighting your demons and stay well.
Love Tom Petty voice and this song. I remember growing up listening to won’t back down. When ever life gets tough, I can count on Tom to lift me up. And I won’t back down. RIP Tom from Aussie.❤
Well I know what's right, I got just one life In a world that keeps on pushin' me around But I'll stand my ground and I won't back down Rest In Peace Tom
One of the things I love most about this song is that the tempo, muted guitars, chord progression, and vocals in the verses all give a feeling of uncertainty, hesitation, and fear. But we won’t back down.
Interesting fact about this song is Tom wrote this because one random evening a arsonist set his house on fire and luckily everyone made it out alive. This song was a way for him to gain power back in his life.
I heard why he wrote in from the radio, and thought that is amazing. He held so much angrier. I personally am learning to forgive, never forget. Thanks Tom for writing this song.
I listened to this song on repeat while my father was dying in the hospital for 3 days. I try to stay strong for him as much as I can. When I lost him I felt completely defeated. But, I have to get back up, because that is what my daddy always did.
One day at a time! Trust God, and pray! I have lost people in my life, and I can honestly say I know how you feel. One day at a time, and be thankful for each day that God sees you through! God be with you!
Staring at my ticket stub right now. February 10, 1990. University of Dayton Arena. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. $17.50. Full Moon Fever tour. Also, the opening act was Lenny Kravitz. Once in a lifetime experience. Literally. The only time I ever saw TP in concert. A night I'll never forget.
Thank you for liking this rock song video. There are several versions of it and they are all good. I very much liked Tom Petty in the movie "The Postman".
J.D. Estrada- yes indeed. It is one of his best. Another I really like is "Free Falling". That is the first time I had seen a woman performing on a skate board and she was good at it.
I haven't been this upset about someone I never met dying since John Lennon. This feels wrong, so premature, but we are all mortal. He was the best rocker born in the 1950s for sure. So sad today. Peace.
He could have had time off and undergone knee replacement surgery he required. He would have still been alive rather than medicating the pain while touring.
I knew Tom and his brother Bruce in the early 1970s when I went to college there. Even had dinner at their house. Just down home people...their mother was a sweetheart.
@@nunabiz2807 I believe so...the people who lived in Gainesville, Fl, including my girlfriend at the time, went to school with them and she said "Hey I want you to meet Tom"...(and at a another time, 'this is Bruce' who was Lisa's age) - and I went to the local bars where I would watch Mudcrutch, play. Also I remember a close friend of Tom and the band (and mine), Nancy Luca, who had her own band and I partied with her and Tom occasionally. Tom was just a regular guy - 100%! I thought Nancy would also become a super-star - she DEFINITELY had the talent!
Came here after hearing the incredibly painful Lara Trump cover - I'd forgotten just how damn good this track is, so I'm actually saying thanks to LT for bringing me here.
Well I won't back down, no I won't back down You could stand me up at the gates of hell But I won't back down Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out Hey I will stand my ground And I won't back down
