My daughter had three open heart surgeries Tom Petty was there for two of them he visited her in the intensive Care at the University of Florida that is.
You can feel the love and respect that Tom had for his band members and friends. The world lost a great one when he passed but his music lives on forever.
He only got rich like most off of perjury and unrightiously ways...Trust me, I know more about this man this most ever did....we all are sinners, But only a few walk in there convictions...and I hate to tell you all like I have time and time again, This man is a con, a lier and a bully and a user to get what he got by railroading freinds along his path of greatness...lol... brought to you by the one and only 💯
@@renae776 I back you 100% on this. Tom Petty was a talent that loved his fans and his fans loved him. I don't care what the trolls on here have to say or think about it. We love Tom Petty and his music.
Recently read that Tom was in so much pain with his hip when he did this , he didn’t want to let his fans down , and made it worse and it broke. He took pain killers , which eventually killed him , just because he didn’t want to let people down . TOM GOD BLESS YOU IN HEAVEN ❤️ gone but not forgotten .
I read the same. He looks to be in pain the way he's hunched over. I've been there and it's always a choice between soldiering on and just giving up. Tom was truly one of the greats.
@@clymelabox2559 yes ,it’s such a shame when the great people you come across in life die,,,, but leaving behind such great videos is such a beautiful reminder, same as when I watch him in the travelling wilburys videos , fabulous , but of course george and Roy also gone .
You just reminded me I am coming through the fog and smoke of the loss of my mom then dad 3 yrs later and a whole lot of crazy I can say I still wonder how when mom was released from the hospital 2 wks in to go home and start hospice I just didn't understand or still how once home on hospice with a broken hip inoperable bc of her condition with prolonged cancer I wonder how did she not suffer obvious pain sitting all day in a w/c being lifted in out of chair onto her bed or where else. I wonder to this day hips I know of ppl who undergo the surgery of replacement broken worn none on bone they all have horrific pain I will never understand it
Being only 12 months older than Tom Petty, his death saddened me greatly; I remember him on Concert For George and in The Travelling Wilburys, and many more sketches he was in.
I was surprised to see Stevie Nicks walk on stage when Tom Petty was in Gainesville FL, his hometown. We had no idea that she was going to be there and the crowd went wild. She brought out roses for all of the band and gave the last rose to Tom. Then they started singing "Stop Draggin my Heart Around". Amazing 🤩
I feel very lucky to have been at this gig , especially now that Tom has passed away. They all were so good it was amazing, they make it look so effortless. Stevie Nicks set before The Heartbreakers blew me away too. RIP Mr Petty, gone way too soon. The world is a better place thanks to your music.
This whole band here is the Best, Stevie & Tom were like Peanut Butter & Jelly, I wish that they did more songs together, R.I.P. Tom, You were a Diamond, Cousin Figel
Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, they are a combination of class and cool. They just compliment each other perfectly. You can see the love they have for each other whenever they perform together. Their love is a best friend type of love ❤️
My all time favorite musician/ performer!!! Tom so much loved his fans, that he wrote a song, about his love for them ( Wont back down). I so loved how he would get the crowd going, how he fed off the audience, and vise versa. I miss this dude!!! Just a true ROCK STAR
Grow up with Tom an the heart breakers, man this is a tuff lost , just a cool down to earth regular guy , who won respect from every body in the industry and the regular guys like us. So cooool, greatly missed
I know me too/ been crying petty tears today/ and I am giving into that. I hardly cry but it came over me/ his songs bring me back to a special place + time. Having a hard time to choose my favored song, that should say something, all of them are great. He is in my top 10 for sure and I miss him big time. Thank you for being part of OUR time. Aloha from east Maui and its raining here like the heaven is crying too.
Stevie will be around for a long time, and I'm sure we'll get at least a decade of her lamenting the eventual death of Lindsey and telling us all how "she wished she'd worked things out with him before he passed." Of course, she's completed screwed him out of FM while he's alive, but I digress.
Yes. There are no more bands, as there were in the 60s-80s unfortunately. Times have changed, people are into their smartphones now and all the apps. Rock bands are from a bygone era.
What a brilliant gig this was! A beautiful, warm London summer’s evening - Tom, Stevie and Mike weren’t just wearing shades cos they’re cool rock n’rollers, the sun was bright and dipping low. Stevie had performed a wonderful solo set and then we were treated to classic, pure Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. None of us ever knows what’s coming next. 6 weeks later Tom was dead. 2 1/2 years later we were all in lockdown. The world has changed, simple pleasures that we took for granted are all the more precious now. Enjoy the moment, it’s the only certainty we have.
this was always one of my favorite songs period they sounded so damn great and this is so cool to see imin tears yes they look so happy love this 💖💖💖😪😪
I was at this show. It was magic. He looked and sounded so good, you would never have guessed he only had 3 months left. Big hugs to Stevie, she must be devastated.
Stevie is a superstar who makes time to have a laugh with us ordinary folk I had a comment from her about him Hendrix as we are both huge fans. Tom petty also hasn't let fame go to his head and for me thatmakes them so so special. Thank all those wonderful musicians who help us forget life's ordeals and bring us so much happiness.
Ian Hazeldine ....So many rich and famous performers "weird out". I read Tom's net worth was over 90 million. Yet he was way more down to earth than most anyone in his income bracket. That says it all to me. This man was truly unique and that was reflected in his lyrics so often. People with a couple million dollars net worth often times are so full of themselves since they have no perspective, among other issues. Meanwhile, all Tom's millions of fans love him for who he is....not his well earned money. Meanwhile, wealthy people everywhere look down their noses at the working class people who work for them, clean their hotel rooms, wait on their table at gourmet restaurants etc....too funny!
Jim Rodgers I go to up to 25+ concerts a year by artists who were popular 1970-1995. Almost ALL are in better shape physically than their audiences. The guys are mostly lithe and haven’t lost a beat, just some hair or some hair pigment. The small fraction of women I go to see have found a few lbs, but that’s good - fewer wrinkles! The hardest part is seeing other audience members. The music makes me feel like I’m back in high school, but they’re bitching about my cameras, people dancing & singing along, &, yadayada. It’s a rock concert, folks! I don’t care if you’re obese, bald, gray-haired, one-legged. Relax and get into the music. HAVE FUN!
Jim Rodgers, isn't that the truth. Furthermore, I never thought rock would fade but it has. Rock's record sales now go to Beyonce, Lady Gaga, St. Vincent, Alabama Shakes, Courtney Barnett, and a slew of rappers. Kid Rock is left carrying the torch and he's close to 50.
I saw them onstage together in 1981 and it was simply magical. I’ll bet she is just shattered today. As we all are. You’ll live forever in these songs, Tom. ❤️
I woke to the saddest news this morning! Tom Petty has passed away of a heart attack. Damm! We lost another one He was only 66 years old. I'm glad for Steve Nicks she got to sing together on this day. I'm sure she is too! Well R.I.P. my man! And thanks for all those memorable songs growing up!!!😢😢
Frances (kindhearted1) Me too Frances! I don't know the reasons but 2017 we lost too many BIG names. Compared to previous years. I was just listening to my Travelling Wilburies CD's over the holidays. Just a little end of year Tribute to Tom!
alberto ciulini Yes, so many huge losses this year..I can't believe it. Oh, I love the Travelling Wilburies! Thank God for yt Alberto..we can watch Tom Petty and other greats any time :)
Frances (kindhearted1) I'm grateful for yt?. But sometimes I enjoy putting on some of my old vinyls and sitting back and listen to how they were made to sound. Right?😎
It's unbelievable that Tom's voice has not changed after all these years. He sounds just as good as when i heard this for d 1st time, many years ago.🤗🤗🤗
Loved watching this. Such joy between them. Unthinkable that Tom Petty can't do any more concerts here. He lived for his music. "the only magic". Stevie will be cut to shreds. R.I.P. Tom Petty. Taken way too soon. :(
Who during this performance would have thought that Mike Campbell would join F Mac, formed by the talented guitarist and co-founder Peter Green. In 2020, his music still makes me shiver. "Need (Both" of Your Music So Bad" - Rest in peace Tom and dear Peter.
No one better than Tom. I've listened to this man since birth. '82. He will never leave my side. His songs have provided so many memories for me. Tom, love you forever.. ms.nicks, your as beautiful as I can remember..wish there was one more jam.. you both laid it out so well..
Rest in Peace Tom. Your songs are some of my fondest memories growing up. When I listen to the classics of Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks they bring back vivid memories of my time in high school, college, and in the service. Tom Petty, as big as he was, did not receive as much credit as he truly deserved IMO. His music was timeless and his heart was gold. I'm sure they are jamming up in heaven tonight.
RIP TOM😢. Not sure if my childhood can survive this. Tom sure was a huge part of it! Love seeing the Heartbreakers. Benmont Tench was my favorite! Mike Campbell with Tom Petty is just perfection!
@@GG-pd6yp I miss things, too sometimes. I don't care to watch tv, so sometimes news can be patchy. I was really sorry when Tom Petty passed. He was a good player and performer. RIP.
May your music play on. I can't imagine all that great music being played right now in the big sky by the greats who have passed on. Tom Petty you will be missed more then ever.
I can't believe Stevie Nicks is 69! Holy Cow! RIP to the great Tom Petty! Tom Petty is everything that's right with America! Thank you sir for your timeless music.
Absolutely Love This!♥ So Wonderful Seeing Stevie And Tom Petty Together Again! And To Think! Stevie In Her Early Years Wanted To Join Tom Pettys Band! So Glad She Did'nt! I Love You! Tom Petty.. But!..Stevie Is My Rock Goddess Rock On Ancient Gypsy Queen♥
Bonnie A she did indeed want to join the Heartbreakers. In interviews he said she was like the little sister but they were a guy band. Wonder if she was pissed that he has the Webb Sisters on tour when she wanted that. She seems fine here though...
This is what I dig so much about Tom and the Heartbreakers. They really love what they do and each other. Only other band that I love this much is the Beatles. This is what music is all about! The world has lost a really wonderful artist.
I hear you... Tom was one of my very favourite musicians, not least as a person... but other than concert videos and interviews I sadly never got to see him perform live... feels a little like there is something missing in my life that will forever leave a hole...
I couldn't stop laughing at how they were playing "fighting" with each other. I am very happy that these two always kept in touch and never NEVER lost that compassion and connection that I hope to have with someone someday.
My wife and I got to see Tom at the United Center in Chicago. It was absolutely the greatest rock experience in my life. Oh how we miss him so. But he will be close to our hearts forever.
😢👍I Love Stevie Nicks One of a Kind voice.! Tom Petty was badass I remember partying to his music many times.! May he rest in peace and may he be with the Lord.! We're all going to miss you Tom.! And my love goes out to Stevie Nicks for her loss of a good friend.! And a singer partner.! I guess this is the last we'll see of the two together.! God be with you Stevie Nicks we don't need to lose you to.! Rip Tom Petty.! Love you bro.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥🖒😢
Tom had a broken hip and didn't want to stop touring in 2017 for Hip replacement surgery so he had to take pain killers. RIP to the great Tom Petty. The coolest Guy in Rock!
I pray Stevie takes his band under her wings, l know they were kick ads friends! Tom will live forever in his music, this is for sure! You gave us so much Tom, I bet you are up in heaven singing with all the other great musician we've lost. Love and peace, my favorite musician
They don't need her to take them under her wings.......Mike Campbell played briefly with Fleetwood but he's got his own band for 12 yrs now, before Tom died, and he'd play with THBs, Fleetwood, and his own band. Mike & his band recently cut their own album, 'Wreakless Abandon'.
A huge part of my life and fond memories died with Mr. Tom Petty. In 1981, my hometown longtime girlfriend and I broke up in Daytona Beach, FL, so I decided to drive to Connecticut to be with friends . I went to the local record store on Volusia Blvd and purchased Stevie Nicks cassette album with Tom Petty. I listened to this song multiple times. For that 24-hour drive, they were my best friends. Thank you for being YOU. Godspeed Tom.
Two of my favorite musicians of all time. I miss her having a higher voice, but gosh I will always adore her in any shape or form. Was always the same with Tom. I hope Stevie still has a lot longer to stick around. RIP Tom. 😥
Awesome video man. Thanks so much for sharing this. Tom Petty will always be in our hearts for ever and ever. The songbook of our lives. I'm only 48 and was too young to even know him when he first started out. But I soon discovered what an amazing songwriter, performer, guitar player he is, was, always will be. God bless you Tom Petty. The music will never die.
God bless you Tom. Love how you tell a story of all the band and take you time to make this show special. You were always very sincere and I know these guys are going to miss you so much. I'm going to miss you so much too Tom. Thanks for the music, and the sincerity over the years.
This moment is magical forever ♾️ & ever with the Queen 👑 Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty is a super star & Icon 👑of the rock music 🎸🌟 in the heaven forever & for the eternity..............😘🕊️♣️♠️♥️➿.

Such a great gig. So glad I found this. I stopped recording when the clapping and sing-a-long started at the end of Don´t Come Around Here No More. I got a little teary eyed at this point . Was so glad to be there.
I miss you Tom. I feel empty inside and incomplete. I find a bit of comfort listening to your songs and watching your interviews . Forever in my heart ❤️. Rest in peace ❤️❤️
Hi Wendy. I saw you Steelers video just now. I recall Terry Bradshaw of steelers win four Superbowl when i was a jitterbug. Yes Hines ward help 21st century steel curtain to victory
