I was in high school when Magnum P.I. became popular on CBS. Most of us teenage guys wished we had Tom's good looks, unfortunately most of us looked like Higgens.

Were you able to keep in touch through the years? He really does seem to be a down-to-earth, genuine person, with a loving wife and daughter. Wish more actors were like him. I remember watching him on the Dating Game and had a crush on him even then, with that personality and those dimples. But Magnum put him on the map forever.

Stephen J. Cannell brought both of them together in 1978 at Universal and the rest, as they say, is history!!!

@@spenfor1598 ​ Thank you for your kind comment, I really find it quite fascinating to hear how the show touched so many people including you and me, it is really nice to hear how it connected you and your mom in some way ! :) For me it`s kinda similar, since my older brother and I always used to watch Magnum, A-team and other old classic shows together with my Dad on Saturdays :) Back then (like late 90s early 2000s) I always thought it was my dad in the show since he had the same Hairstyle, Beard, Clothes and generall looks of him and my Mom always used to tell us, that he owned a sports car back in the day so it made 100% sence to me haha It was only when i was a little older that i realised my mistake but i can still see the resemblance ^^

@@spenfor1598 my 92 year old mom and I would watch the Inspiration channel for the old westerns and Tom Selleck was in a commercial and I'd tell my mom that's my boyfriend. 🤭so when his commercial came on my mom would say, there's your boyfriend 🤦‍♀️ loved Quincy.

Remaking Rockford wasn't going to get off the ground. As Tom Selleck stated, only James Garner can be Jim Rockford and without Stephen J. Cannell's involvement, the project was a no go!!!

I love Tom. (Jesse). Because he is real has wonderful way with people Hes comfortable with himself. Makes him Loveable. I love the Show. And the guy who play in ERINS Office.

I loved James Garner also. Him and Tom. I ve seen. Every thing They are in. Rock Ford. Flies .etc.

They did when Tom was on Las Vegas….reunited Tom and his Magnum PI series.

I am going to watch the Jesse Stone's, these are his creation, Tom Selleck is a story teller he has a way of composing, I hope he writes a book.

Clark gable was good looking, too.

Astrid Kierkegaard There is a documentary on Clark Gable on YT. See how Gable looked when he was a teen. I have never, ever seen a man so ugly as him. They had to wait a bit to pull his ears back, dyed his hair black, he had no teeth at all. There is more to it than what I mentioned. I would name him the Creepy Crawler. Not trying to be mean but it sure sounds like it. Check it out worth the watch.

I’m not sure I agree I agree that Tom Selleck is better looking than Clark Gable! That’s a big leap.

A much better human being too it seems.

I have to admit that I never got the Clark Gable love until I actually watched his movies. He was so masculine you could feel it from the screen but Gable had improved his looks via surgeries while Tom was just naturally handsome and just seems like a nice guy which appeals to women and men. I def. get why women loved Gable though, they don’t make men like Gable or Selleck anymore.
