Here are some things that are on my list for January in my Northern California garden 1. Prune roses 2. Fertilize citrus (in the Bay Area we mostly need Nitrogen) 3.Plant cool weather seeds (peas, radish, turnips, cilantro, dill, spinach,Chard, beets, kale, broccoli, cabbage, carrots etc) 4. Start seeds indoors for herbs and perennial flowers 5. Plant onion transplants and shallots 6. Start Pepper seeds!

Same here in the Central Valley. I am still harvesting tomatoes. This is a first for me. Cheers!

Interesting! I wonder whether the plants will actually pull through winter and grow again next season. Will be an interesting experiment!

@@GreenLove1 I was wondering the same. I recently took cuttings from my best tomato plants to root. Why not, right?

@@GreenLove1 I took the cuttings about 2 weeks ago, most have rooted nicely. However, some of them rotted on the ends, I cut the ends off to see if they will root. I don't normally have this issue during the season. I only bought one of each tomato this year, and propagated from each.

Yes! Even in SoCal 9b an abundant harvest abounds. I’ve got Better Boy tomatoes. Radishes. Lettuce. Kale. Yellow Onions. Broccoli. Carrots and Green Beans. Even my sweet pea flower starts are taking off. In fact my Fall/Winter garden is flourishing even more than my Summer garden. Not so much pest pressure. Gardening looks different every season. That’s the wonderful allure of gardening. Love following your channel Green Love!

Oh wow, Monica, that's amazing! I decided to rest my garden this winter, but does not look like it wants to rest! Thanks for following my channel, I appreciate it, as well as your comments, very much - Tara
