@@for3stspirit It happened in Arizona this year at Wildlife World Zoo. She didn't jump in the cage, she got too close by stepping over the barrier between the cage and where the public is supposed to be. This happened a few miles down the road from where I live. She admitted to being stupid and thankfully the jaguar did not have to be put down.
Projekt:Kobra yes you can, going there you know what the rules are, if you don’t that’s what the chains and rails are for. If someone is that damn stupid to stand on the other side of those chains and rails when 100’s of other can that’s shows pure disrespect. It’s saying, “yes I comprehend there is a barrier here to prevent people from crossing it, I acknowledge that, but I’m going to do it anyways because my picture is worth more to me then respecting fallen soldiers” it’s complete disrespect, to say she didn’t know is just being naïve she knew exactly what she was doing.
Projekt:Kobra well if there’s. . . a ceremony going on. . . where people are clearly in one area. . . normal humans would assume that it would be disrespectful to. . . enter the area of the ceremony. . . Hopefully you will remember this exchange. . . when you’re in the wrong again. . . and you’ve got some raving absolutist in your. . . face about it. . .
@Projekt:Kobra Well, she is being disrespectful, that is certain. What you really mean is if she was intentionally being disrespectful, that is uncertain. I can also understand how people can be upset with an adult when they see such behavior. People expect a grown adult would understand common social cues (read the room) at this point of their life, but there are some of us who are square pegs trying to fit in round circles and not all of us are malicious in our intent and I totally get your view on not being quick to judge due to that. Now that being said, claiming ignorance almost never grants you immunity of the consequences and just hope the (metaphorical or literal) beatings stop lol.
@Projekt:Kobra Your sarcasm is misplaced. Let me put it this way, I 100% agree that we shouldn't be quick to judge, but lets not pretend that apologies will mend the killing of a sacred cow. Humans make mistakes, but lets not pretend that mistakes are without consequence. She made a mistake, she faced the consequences, we all move on.
I'm old my definition of social media is talking to the person next to me. The concept for people now to keep their mouth shut and their ears open to learn confuses the sh***t out of people under 45
Elizabeth M.02760 unfortunately, these days it's not just that one person. It's the majority of people. Look around. How many people actually do the speed limit? How many people text n drive while doing 20 over, everywhere they go? It's not just driving. Look around. It's way more prevalent than you would think.
FlashxSwazy How in the hell is a speed limit outdated? Speed limits are calculated not just arbitrarily made. They take into account safety factors, breaking distance, traffic, and 85th percentile speeds. They're made to allow the safest possible limit on a road. Going over them is just reckless.
It's a very censorship-friendly way of putting it - and the US love censoring themselves. Compare that to the Royal Grenadiers' "DO NOT TOUCH THE QUEEN'S GUARD!!!!"
SHAUN_TRON_ AWOKEN18 "ugh, these military guys are so huffy and serious. They yelled at me for walking! I thought they defended our right to walk where we want?"
@Also Mangl3 -Gun Syncs and More i'm no American, but from my understanding that the Tomb is a place where lots of Unknown/Unidentified soldiers are buried. Probably from Vietnam or from 1812 war that US had once *i think it was diplomatic or democratic i dunno, dont blame me* I also know that thats where 3 Austronauts are buried *probably from that explosion that happened many many years ago* Thats my understanding of the Tomb. Never been there but one day i will.
@Also Mangl3 -Gun Syncs and More The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a specific section of the Arlington National Cemetery which holds the remains of seven soldiers, three from World War I and four from the Korean war that were never identified. The tomb stands as a show of respect and remembrance for these US soldiers that were never identified after they died in battle and thus never returned to their families.
I don't care how people feel about 'the establishment' these young souls went to their deaths because they wanted to protect us. That, in itself, deserves the highest of respect and gratitude.
It ticked me off too! Have some freaking respect! Taps was just played, a wreath was just placed, it was a moment to be respectful for those that gave their lives for our very freedoms. Doesn't matter if we don't know their name....what they sacrificed should STILL & should ALWAYS matter!
Well, when you have anything that takes pictures, you are instantly identified as a 'Photographer' and are allowed to go pretty much where ever you please. Permission or not. Just ask this woman... ;-)
While the M14 isn't loaded, no magazine, no ejected round, the M17 sidearm the NCO carries is loaded. Look up the sig M17 they carry, they are amazing. They have wood grips made from the deck of the USS Olympia, and the sights are made from tomb marble.
Then she so nonchalantly walks back behind the rail, turns around and keeps photographing. How shameful. If I was her I would have kept walking...and walking.
I was expecting some woman to lean, maybe even step one foot over the rope/fence for a split second before being yelled at. But to f-ing brazenly walk out disrespecting the grounds like that?!?!?! Holy hell what is wrong with people?!
I love how people can still justify trespassing by saying "the guard was super angry". It's his duty to protect and honour this tomb, not let tourists trample on sacred ground for a photo. The guards are not zoo animals, their soldiers that deserve the utmost respect of the citizens they protect and serve.
It is much less the soldiers there protecting the tomb who should be respected. It's the fallen soldiers, those whom will never be known, who should be shown the utmost respect. That is what the guards are there to do as well. It absolutely baffles me, knowing that some people can't follow two simple requests. Silence, and respect.
As a U.K. Veteran watching this clip on a very special day 6th June 2019 ( for the young this is 75 years since D Day) I am still in awe of the sentinels and their professionalism. I hope one day to come over the pond and offer a salute to your fallen and to the sentinels. Stag on guys and gals and for those who gave all "stand easy your stag is done". Sempa Fi.
@Cleo Fierro Ok lets put this to bed once and for all. I am a UK veteran and yes an army veteran that was an ARMY Commando and yes we do have them. People say the sentinel was super angry. To me, it seems like he is asking her Respectfully to go back in a very loud voice. I mean, yelling is honestly the least they can do.
Exactly this is a place for those who have died at war and are being honored and for her to make a move like that and only be yelled at that’s is an act of grace from God
It’d be a different story if she had continued and stayed out. May very well have drawn his rifle as intimidation. Wonder what happened after, if MPs confronted her outside the memorial

I was there a few years ago. You can sense the request of silence and respect at the tomb of the unknowns without having to hear it from anyone, you can feel it in the air and in the surroundings. The place is incredible.
The last time I went, I had a not yet 2 year old. She was "trained" to stop and be quiet when she heard the National Anthem. All I had to do was whisper "Oohhh can" and she came to a very quick skidded halt. This was just before "Changing of the Guard" Stood still until it was over. All my kids have been taught the same thing. If they can't see the flag, they are to turn towards the voice singing. People got mad because we stopped short at a baseball game. They were 10+ steps behind us. That's the ONLY TIME I ever said anything. We were told "pure stupidity" I answered back "NO, PURE RESPECT" and told my kids not to move.
Nope, clearly she audacity and clearly she broke the rules and in return a soldier, I'm happy to say, put that clown in it's place. To me, she should be hauled off to jail and given a heavy citation for trespassing!!
I was there on Memorial Day when a woman went under and inside the velvet rope. The guard continued to a certain position in his walk, stopped and in the same forceful voice informed her he could shoot her for violating that area. Even babies were silenced. I wish I could remember what he said. My respect increased. I knew the tomb deserved a quiet, respectful atmosphere. After, I saw the area, not just the tomb, as sacred ground.
That is actual incorrect, If he shot that women then the whole crowd would go into a panic. Also those rifles they don't actually have any ammo in them for safety reasons if one of the guns goes off. For violating that area she may be charged for trespassing and she is being hated by the Internet and the military this is really a perfect punishment for her.
No that is incorrect. If you you were smart you would know that that The Tomb guards do not carry live ammo. Instead you just say "They can still shoot lmfao" I want you to know that is just terrible of you that you put no time or research to prove your statement. Guess what Imfao cause of how stupid you can be about a topic that you decided to get yourself Involved in.

It wasn't magically sucked up into her urinary tract, bladder, and intestines. And nowhere in that article that you cited does it say that happened. But that article that you cited DID say that a she carried a portion of the fault because she spilled it on herself. She must’ve thought she was special and didn’t have to stay behind the barrier like everyone else lol there always has to be one person to test the waters
Exactly. This is almost like going up to someone like Harrison Ford while he's at a family members funeral and taking a selfie with him in it and walking away, without even acknowledging him... AND THINKING IT'S OKAY TO DO SO.
Even worse, it looks like she actually asked the person she was with if they thought she should do it in the first place. Sometimes stupid is contagious.

Alex horseshit. The pipeline was authorized by the tribes decades ago, one already exists in that area. Additionally, the new pipeline isn't on native lands, it's adjacent. What was recently planned was an extension of the existing authorization, and the tribes were even given prior notice and a brand new offer paying them on top of what they already got paid the first time. Instead of act reasonable, the tribes in question demanded that instead of upfront payments, that they would be paid a tax on every gallon of oil that passes through both the old and new systems. Instead of giving into unreasonable demands by greedy tribal leaders who already screw over their own people on a regular basis, the government sidelined the tribes and made independent offers to private land owners to bypass the native lands. Now the tribal governments are acting like petulant children because they realize that they pushed away a lot of good money.

Not "only" but the words "I was only going..." and "I (only/never) thought...". A combination of the words but that basic syntax should be a very clear sign that the following words should be taken with scepticism.
Actually, no. If you watch the changing of the guard there is no magazine nor ammo in the Guard's weapon. The Sergeant of the Guard, who is only a few yards away under the monument with the rest of the guard force, carries a loaded 9mm pistol. The Kiosk to the left of the monument has an ammo Can with magazines in it if needed. I was stationed with a Guy who had been a Tomb Guard. Arlington is haunted as hell. The guards see a lot of things at night but only talk among themselves. Another Sergeant I was stationed with had also been stationed at Ft. Myer. and decided one night to take a shortcut across Arlington from his Barracks. After what he saw that night he wouldn't go near the Cemetery.
Sadly, I have seen a similar thing happen overseas. In Athens they have their own Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It too is guarded by a ceremonial guard. However, this being Europe, the ceremonial guard's uniform is a little more... old fashioned. Pop culture being what it is, tourists see a soldier in a colorful uniform and poofy hat and think they are all like the London guards you go up and take pictures with and try to make them smile. You would think it would be common sense that you wouldn't try to goof around at a place called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Needless to say, most people got the hint when the soldiers first clapped the butts of their guns on the ground, and those that didn't get it the first time wizened up when the guards started yelling quite aggressively at them.
lol the queens guard don't pose for pictures. they just don't move when someone comes up to take on. as long as you don't intefere with them in any way you're ok. ps, those guns are loaded and they are all trained professional troops that have likely recently come back from war. they are guards, not just ceremonial troops. Trying to make the queens guard break rank is just a sign of bad manners, they are not there for your entertainment, they are there to guard the queen.
