The main theme for Tomb Raider II. Enjoy! Music by Nathan McCree, a great musician who wrote the soundtrack for the first three games. Tomb Raider II is created by Core Design and Eidos Interactive 1997
+Maddie haag I can one up you there. Put in a music CD, start up the PS1 music player, and then eject the CD without quitting the music player, put in TR2 (or other game CD) and play the OST and other sound clips. For a basic music player it as had a repeat all/one function :) ...........I was a nerdy kid.... heh
@@mamaaak3793 he lives on through the hopefully that brings back all good memory's when you hear it (I apologise if my comment upsets you I hopefully haven't stepped out of line saying it im not good at wording thing but it's the same for me I can name many songs that bring back good memory's this is one of them) and I'm happy that gaming connects me to so much of my past anyway and it puts me at peace calms me.
This single picture is so iconic and memorable. Lara’s confident, cold pose. The scary dude behind her. It really made me want to see everything this game had .
This brings back my childhood.... God, I miss being a kid. Wish I could go back. It is so depressing being an adult. Tomb Raider was really a big part of my childhood, and gave me the independence I have today. Thank you Lara Croft.
Nothing beats the good old Tomb Raider games with the original Lara :-( There were so many magic in those games. I mean in most of the games in the past. Today there are only mainstream games to earn money quicker and quicker. There is no love anymore in the games. The atmosphere, the story, the soundtracks.....everything was so fucking individual and Tomb Raider were one of those games, you will never forget. Damn I want my childhood back ;-)
I loved playing this game as a kid. I'm technically a bit young for most people who played this game. I'm technically gen z (1999) the tomb raider games have a very special place in my heart.
@@thefilmfrontier6822 No, they pretty much stopped releasing games in big boxes in the early 2000s. My last big box bought in store is probably from 2002. After that they shrunk the boxes and then they were replaced by plastic DVD cases.
@@thefilmfrontier6822 Absolutely. For the past 2 years, I've been buying sealed game boxes on eBay (old stock), mainly the ones I wanted back in the day and couldn't afford. It's certainly bittersweet.
I was very lucky to come across all the OG Tomb Raider games for the PS1 and im gonna play them all before the PS5 comes out. What aso excites me is the possibility of a new TR game on the PS5 :)))
Just like tr1 theme I cried like a baby when I heard this after my grandparents passed away because they always watched me play games. One of the best themes in history:)
Even now in late 2018 this piece of music takes me back to when I used to just put the disc in the PlayStation just to hear this music, I hardly ever played the game, just the music. Isn’t nostalgia such a weird feeling, mixture of emotions in which both happiness & sadness are at an equilibrium
Brings back memories of childhood every time. My siblings and I would stay up late and watch our mother play these games. She loved Tomb Raider. She instilled very early on that gaming was our thing as a family. She’s 51 and still builds entire worlds in Minecraft in her spare time. 😂
This music brings back so many happy memories; it takes me out of this world, it puts me in a world of magic and advebture. Come to think about it I never finished the game and as for the old man in the Manson... Well I use to lock him in a freezer, he needed to chill out and stop following me..... PS1 games have that magic
*sigh* So many fond memories. I loved this game as a child but I could never make it past the opera house level and at one point I believed I will never beat it. Two years ago I picked it up again after not playing it for over 12 years and I finally played it through. I don't think anything can can compare to this special feeling I had when I finished the last level. It's really awesome that a simple game soundtrack can evoke so many beautiful nostalgic feelings.
This was my first Tomb Raider game and this intro screen used to scare me when I was a kid, because of the creepy man in black on the background. I would think he was a evil man trying to hurt Lara, and he looked like that villain from Roger Rabbit movie xD
Nostalgic games such as tomb raider as well as Resident Evil trilogy are worth to play again or hear them more and more , bringing a sense of rejuvenation .
This could be my favourite TR game alongside The Last Revelation... but this tune has a special place in my heart, truly beautiful! thanks for uploading dude ☺ takes me right back!
I listen to this music and it brings back so many memories... Our dad sitting in the chair behind my sister and I, watching us play. Those memories will stay with me forever. All three of us still love these games to this day.
This was the first TR game that I played. In late 1997 I came across a demo called Tomb Raider 2, and downloaded and liked it, so bought it. I played the first game afterwards. I was 29 at the time, and am 55 now.
Eu vivi!
Brings me back to the days when my mother would yell at my father for either keeping me up on a school night to play this with him or help him when he was stuck. Man I would give anything to go back
Yea this unlocks a time for me when I used to really enjoy games. Childhood memories flooding back. Crazy how the brain triggers things through music pictures. Thanks for this!
What I love about this theme is that you still feel like you’re stepping into this grand adventure, with mysteries and treasures galore, just like with the first game, but with 2’s theme you feel like you’re stepping back into Hell with an old friend. You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into, but you have that feeling of familiarity about it too. It’s like ‘you’ve’ got Lara Croft with you, you got this’.
This is such a pretty tune. It fits the game perfectly. It kind of gives you the feeling of adventure. This Tomb Raider came out 3 years before I was born. But for some reason, it makes me feel nostalgic.
Funny how they never change, and we get to come back years later and they looks, sound and play just like they did. Video games are the ultimate time capsules.
This is just mad crazy. I used to play this game, yes specifically this, a couple months after I bought my first ever home PC. I remember how every time I'd make progress in it, I'd briefly talk about it to a classmate at school, he'd help guide me through as the levels got harder. The sheer memories! Goddamn I miss both this game & being at school; especially English class where I'd briefly talk about it to the friend.
The very first tomb raider game I have ever played. I was born in 2003 and my first console was the playstation. This, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Spyro year of the dragon were the games that started my journey as a gamer. But still no other game brings more nostalgia than tomb raider. Also I can't wait for the remastered trilogy to release.
God the Precious memory’s this themes brings to my head...perfect theme to wonder down memory line....would give anything except my two beautiful daughters to go back from the day I was born and start all over again with a fresh new start yo
1:47 i absolutly love this part! This main theme brings back so many good memories. I was 10 when i first played this, Lara was always like a rolemodel for me ❤
I used to watch my dad playing this game in 2004 on vacation mornings, now I'm almost 23 years old and this song brings me back to a much simpler times
I still remember the time I was playing this at my grandmother's house. I was 7 or 8 somewhere around there. I was playing the mansion level (no memory card so not worth it to play the main game) and was going into the pool. My aunt told me if I got on top of the pedastol (spelling?) Lara would get naked. Of course that wasn't a thing but my aunt liked to play jokes on me. I tried to get on that thing for so long. It became less about naked lara and more about getting on the thing. I didn't realize it but there was an invisible wall preventing me from doing so.
Absolutely fantastic composition. This theme is like a reunion theme, when someone comes back after being gone for a long time and you are so, so glad to see them. Such is Lara, emerging from yet another dangerous adventure for a brief rest, much to the relief of her good associates and Winston. No other sequel pulls off a "welcome back" like this one does, for me at least. It's such a warm welcome for those who played the first game and waited to see more.
I play this while I look at all my passport stamps, bringing back memories. Tomb Raider was one of the games that lighted the fire to try and live an adventerous life
I always loved the musical elements of the TR games at the time. But 20 years on its almost a spiritual hymn, more beautiful than most modern pop songs! :-/
