I think that there are subgenres of demakes, and some of them fall under the "joke" category, those tend to be ugly on purpose. This is definitely not the case here.
this is really amazing, I like the lack of enemies because I think the fun thing about tomb raider isn t fighting enemies, it s climbing, platforming, avoiding dangerous traps and exploring. I also love the new climbing mechanics, it gives new options for level designs
This is an absolute masterpiece... The attention to detail, the smoothness of the climbing animation despite running on an "old" engine ... Feels like the game is running on double cream. Absolutely sublime work!
Awesome! I love that you went with something in the spirit of Legend, instead of a 1:1 recreation. It shows a lot of creativity. In another lifetime, I could have totally seen Core/Eidos releasing something just like this!
Thank you very much 👍 Indeed, I wanted to avoid the comparison with the original, which would have been unavoidable in the case of a 1:1 recreation. My demake is its own thing, it doesn't aim to replace the original but rather be an alternative experience
@@corentinguillo5577DS version are you joking or what??? Check your eyes properly this looks like a PS1 Tomb Raider especially the graphic and artstyle is same as TR4 and Chronicles. It's using a custom engine that's why it looks different but I hope you were kidding when you said what you said!
@@nepaliprayasgurung2594 DS can run PS1 looking games. And yes when Delca's game was in sidevuew it did make me think of the DS version. But again, better! :)
@@corentinguillo5577 Your just full of crap and you stop spouting crap. DS and DS Lite games have resolution of 256x192 . While 3DS games ran on 240p and some early PS1. Games aswell however the mid cycle and up until later PS1 life the games could easily ran at 480i. Technically the PS1 had hardware capabilities allowed it to ran games at 480i but during it's lunch many games devs couldn't figure how to take advantage of the PS1 hardware and utilities it until the mid cycle. Games like Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Parasite Eve ran and few others had 240p resolution. Gran Turismo, Tony Hawk, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy XI and so on ran at 480i. So DS can't play PS1 games only 3DS games ran at 240p Like many early PS1 until middle of PS1 life cycle the ganes resolution bumped upto 480i. So no DS games doesn't look anything like PS1 games because they look like crap at 192p and most of DS games are 2D and upside down view of the world. And 3DS runs games 240p and new 3DS and PS1 games it emulates poorly and games dont even run 30fps without fps dropping and the lag is bad. Unless you have new 3DS but even then it cant run at 60fps. And even then majority of PS1 have higher resolution at early PS1 games had 240p including " Tomb Raider 1 & 2, while TR3, 4, 5, ran at 480i the resolution bump was massive like day and night. While DS only had 192p so don't talk and try to make comparison on things you barely have a clue about!
This is a gorgeous demake. It really seems like Core Design published it back in the day instead of Crystal Dynamics. A tad shame that there was meant to be more for Angel Of Darkness. Also, Lara's a cat person? That's pretty cool.
This level set is immaculate! I really love how much effort and dedication you put in your projects, this has got to be one of the best level set from you beside the Lourve Galleries and Kitten Adventure. I was genuinely surprised you went in a slight different direction to the level-making of the map, it's like you have integrated both the DS and the Java/Symbian versions and really, really fleshed them out.
@@DelcaTheKittenI was wondering something about this project, do you plan to develop any customizable features (such as outfits and animations) or other languages for the voicelines?
I am beyond amazement, I can't possibly describe the feeling but me being such a fan of this game as I am, with Tomb Raider Legend being my favourite game of all time, I believe you can imagine what I mean by "can't describe the feeling". It's just that I like this game so much that as a kid I used to repeat all the dialogs while replaying the levels, from all the times that I have already done so. It's such a good game to me that, still to this day I simply have a pleasurable and happy feeling to see such content about TRL, or even any content tbh, obviously I'm talking about positive content.
I loved building levels when I was younger and I thought I was good with ambiance and level design, but that's just amazing! The way that you can barely notice the grid based engine but at the same time you know EXACTLY how to use it blindly and that's just art to me. Making the perfect blend between the familiarity of the classic with the modern looks and gameplay. Just beautiful.
Honestly this is what Legend looked to my eyes when I played it because I played long after I completed the survivor trilogy, I guess you can call me spoiled lol. Still love TR legend though...............
Just finished the original for the first time in 15+ years. The lack of good games nowadays really makes you appreciate the old ones, lol. Your project looks great! It really feels like some commercial ps1 release from late 90's to early 00's. Great work, keep it up!
Amazing! J'ignorais le concept du 'demake' jusqu'à ce que je tombe sur tes vidéos. J'adore les regarder pour me relaxer et la soundtrack est juste flawless. Keep up the great work 👍
Man, now that is something! I watched the full playthrough. Liked the puzzles, level design, and overall atmosphere. In some places it seemed inevitable to Take damage, but you made it up with medpacks later on. I also like the treasure hunt mini game. I wish something like that came up back in the day around 2006, when I still played on my PSX as a main Console (I did not have PS2 back then) - not to mention Saturn, that had only the first game. Although I guess the game is tok Advanced for the PSX - Maybe for Dreamcast? Anyway as a huge fan of classic Lara adventures, Id be sure to play this one myself! This would be now in my top classic TR games, The other one being War of the worlds - Although it was a much different concept, So I cant really compare both games. Thank you for making this one!
OMGG I grew up with this game now I am gonna play it in another version. Completed this game like 15+ times... I can't believe now I can play it again with a different style!
Thank you so much for this! This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen done with TRLE. I only wish there could be controller support in the future for the games.
Its stuff like this that makes me proud to be a creative. I get to see amazing things like this pop up in my algo. Bravo. Im stunned honestly. The nostalgia i get from this, far surpasses what the og legends ever did
Loving this! Can't wait for the next chapter. I'm excited to see how you'd do the Excalibur (as a weapon). I miss Legend's gameplay style. I thought it was a nice modern "update" of classic TR gameplay. Nico's TR DOX proved it had more potential.
@@TransitionedToAShark I never said what's featured in this video is Legend-style gameplay. Just thought of mentioning it. The extra moves like jump and grab (while climbing) are taken from Legend. Been playing TR since the '90s up to the second reboot series. Frankly, I prefer Legend's over the current gameplay style, but to each their own.
What a fascinating project! It ticks all the boxes of what made the original games so memorable. It's nostalgic to see the tank controls back but with smoothness and versatility added. On the same note, have you used the voice of Françoise Cadol? (the og french Lara Croft).
Thank you very much. Glad you find it fascinating! You're correct, it's Françoise Cadol's voice - my favorite Lara voice. I grew up playing Tomb Raider in French, I'm very nostalgic about it :)
I dont know it's too hard to make something like this, but I would really like to see a Underworld Demake, or the reboots maybe, but I want more the underworld one.
Just finished the game and it was awsome, everyone should appreciate your time and motivation on making this and i hope comments like this motivates you to finish demaking whole game and maybe other games :).Great work❤
This is so awesome! I’ve been a fan of TR since I was 6, and at 32, I never thought I’d see a Core Design of Legend. Any plans to do the rest of Legend like this???
You did an amazing job. Did you already tstart working on next levels or you just getting started. I played it and it's one of the best custom I've ever played
Thanks! :) I'm using the same engine that was used for Tomb Raider The Last Revelation. In 2000, Core Design gifted the engine and its editor to the fans, so they could create their own adventures. Only Lara and her animations are "ripped" - all the environments/level design are made from scratch
@@DelcaTheKitten Cool. I tried to figure out how ti creare own stuff exporting the models from the game... not using core design... now I have Lara with the animation and I'm trying to put them in the Unreal Engine
