I remember asking my father to buy this game for me off of ebay and I was so excited for this game. I don't know how old I was. Maybe 13? Back then I couldn't speak english and I didn't even know what the title ment. I only knew that I liked TR 2, 3, 4 (didn't get far) and even chronicles so I had high hopes for this game. I thought it looked amazing. When I think back I understand that this game was an absolute mess to play but I had fun. As a kid I never thought that games could be released in an inferior manor and my goal was to simply get to the end and finish it. When I got stuck I blamed myself for not being good enough and not the gamedesign. It felt more like a challenge. Playing on my crappy pc with a blocky monitor. Those were the days, man... good times but I was so naive when it came to this wonderful crap game that is TR Angle of Darkness.

Very fond childhood memories. Speedruns are great, because I can relive them in less than two hours. Also, awesome run!

I remember playing this when I was a kid and i was on the Boaz boss for MONTHS!! Who knew I had to press square to switch targets...😑

So, I’m 12 and love this game a lot. I have played through it 2 times fully and my favourite level is the Bio Research facility and Boaz Returns. I wish more people recognised this game. :)

This is fckng insane. I cant believe it isn't TAS. Everyone who played aod knows how hard this has to be. You are just on another Level. I think this is the most impressive Speedrun I have ever seen. Expecially the part of hall of seasons and the area before. Crazy!

PLEASEE HELPPP. im stuck at Bouchards Hideout, i cant grab the ledge from the wooden block to get out of Bouchards Hideout. Tried everything. PLEASEE tell me what im doing wrong. she wont grab the ledge!! seems like she doesnt even jump high enough :(

I don't see anything wrong with the game. The only thing that sucks is that they didn't have time to expand it with the Turkey levels and 2 other games to make it a trilogy as originally intended.

This is really insane when I was maybe 6-7 I used to play the first level almost exactly like this 🤣😭 I didn’t have a memory card on my ps2 and wanted to be the bad ass Laura Croft I’d seen in the trailer. I used to think I was so smart for the figuring out the apartment stair skip not only was it just a tiny bit faster to get around with but it also doesn’t trigger the gas the police throw in and as a kid who sucked at tomb raider let alone this games mess of a control scheme finding that skip was a god send 🤣

Core didn't have time to finish it but it's my favorite lara game.😊😊

Fantastic run! Game itself is not bad, but it feels unfinished and rushed. Also controls aren't very good (like from old TR games). Also that "leveling" system where you have to push certain object to gain strength is such a bs...

Will you do any more runs of AOD? Glitchless with dual pistol only? hehe. Btw I love your other runs too like the customs levels.

TR:AOD looks and feels a lot better than majority of games to this date. The fluid character movements were so remarkable. Previous series were glitchy too. Don't know why people/fans are always so afraid of something new and better.

I tried to like this game but something wouldn’t let me and I’m not sure why. The first tomb raider was the first game I ever played, this isn’t far from that kind of gameplay only with better graphics.

With all keys this saved so many time i have as child the levelskip used by boaz then game is ok gameplay is ok for the time and stamina is ok

I don't understand why a video about a speedrun is the place where people talk about the fact whether it was justice what happened to Core due to this game or not. - Yet, if that's the case, so be it. I say that Core simply tried too much with this game. The fact that they didn't manage to finish it, so they had to delay the date when it was should be released twice, and it still wasn't enough, is because they were trying too many things at the same time. It's not a bad thing having so many new movements, having a great new character, trying to do something entirely different with this game, but all these things should have been done properly, and all those goals should be achievable. The game felt like they made some great steps in the right direction, but not enough, the main step was missing. It was even glitching up when I first played it in the cutscenes, and Lara died 4 times without any reason just because of those glitches. So, overall we got an unfinished game with a great story (although I hate this title for what it means), the cutscenes are mostly very epic. Eidos did a huge mistake that ruined the game before it was even made when Core used the image of a real archaeologist, Jean-Yves Berteloot, and Eidos failed to ask him for his permission, so he said he would sue them unless the stop using him in their games, so Core was forced to replace him with Werner von Croy even though it makes no sense that way anymore. And several things about this game are great. And Eidos really forced them to release the game too much. But on the other hand, there are so many things about this game that are just annoying. Especially playing Kurtis Trent that felt like playing a huge gorilla and made me sick. However, it really was mostly Eidos' fault since they did it again with Tomb Raider Underworld that they forced now Crystal Dynamics to release an unfinished game that really needed more levels and more work. So they forced them to make a reboot, and Crystal Dynamics refused to create the last entrance in the reboot franchise, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, for it was simply too much for them, so Eidos, now Square Enix, had to make it themselves, which is why Shadow of the Tomb Raider isn't as good anymore.
