I played a Makoto ditto against Tominaga once... I got murdered, but at least i didn't get double perfected (unlike the guy who challenged him before me lol)
man i truly believe makoto is above ken in modern sf3, ken is a beast but a good makoto makes you play in a way thats fucked up just so you don't get 1tko
It's incredibly hard to do on chun. On the english stream the commentators mentioned how tominaga came up with tech that makes it way easier to land, and he pulled it out this game. I don't think the proof of concept was ever uploaded anywhere, and this was the first time it was seen.
From what I can see here and have seen on previous completions he's done on stream, he steps *(backwards)* before the st.Fierce and delays the dash before the first Fukiage. That, IMO, makes it *harder*... The combo itself is consistent from where he did it(without the added stuff I mentioned), he just needed to delay the Fierce and use MK for SA2. From what I recall, you have 3 frames to press Fierce while neutral before the screen shifts, displacing Chun, but you still have the ability to combo if you pressed it during those frames, you just lose 1 frame of leniency on the 2nd Fuki. You have 2 frames of screen shift before she can block it.
Depends on who you ask, I thought it was incredibly hard and random before finding out the "formula" is side dependent. You just have to delay Fierce on the left side compared to the right (if using MK SA2). What Tominaga specifically did against MOV is much harder to do IMO, as he walks backwards then Fierces, making the combo somewhat random. He also heavily delays his dash after SA2, this compensates for the walking he did, but it sacrifices leniency on the second Fukiage. If he is consistent with that though, I am incredibly impressed, I take the easy way haha.
Absolutely incredible play, but to take 95% off is just crazy. I can't help but just love this game, especially if someones just found a way to achieve this against Chun. Means people are still finding new tricks and traps.
@@wildwest1832 true, plus all the top makotos use sa1 so they can confirm off both the grab and the dash punch. Really only tominaga uses sa2 hes just good at finding the grab in the right spots and hitting the combo.
I mean, it really isn't but it sure is hard to do. That's the kind of stuff that makes these old games so fun to watch, crazy combos like these. (Tekken and sf 4 also have crazy combos/juggles, but the Tekken ones are just so different and feel way more annoying while the street 4 ones are way harder to do so you will mostly not see them)
It’s ridiculously hard to do, and it’s not an easy move to land, you need the command grab only in certain parts of the scene. If you think that’s all there is to makoto you’re mistaken. It’s not even her best super.
Its fine, and its crazy insane hard stuff like this that makes the game fun to watch. If it was like SF 5 where anyone can easily do anything it would be a lot more boring to watch. People wouldnt be playing it 20+ years later.
