Here is my honest review of the Tommee Tippee Twist & Click Nappy Bin having used it for a few weeks. This nappy bin is designed to help keep nasty smells locked up and to keep baby's nursery smelling fresh.

My recommendation is to line the white bucket with a garbage bag so you can just take all nappies at once after cutting it

I think that’s a great idea!

Definitely pushing down the diapers to far into the bin and wasting the liner. Tommee tippee have a great video showing you exactly how far to put the diaper in before you twist.

Love your review. I agree with your comment on how much would it cost for refill etc 😁

Thank you! They lure you in with the price of the bin and hit you with the refills when it's too late to back out! 😂

Its cheaper direct from TT rather than amazon (~£3.5 per refill)

Not supposed to push the nappy all the way in. That's what the plunger on the lid is for. Uses less liner per nappy that way.
@while_you_nap
@while_you_nap Год назад
I only push it in as far as I need to to make the twist and click part work... I thought the lid was for keeping the smells in, rather than pushing the nappies in... sometimes these nappies are too intense for the lid to touch them 😂 I'll see if I can push it in less 👌

I got mine free too, but my hubby and I will be using cloth nappies so wonder if I can take the bags off and just use it as a plain nappy bin to store the poo stained cloths in-between washes

Oooh I'd love to know what you think of the cloth ones - I really wanted to give them a go! I'm sure you can use it like that :D

How about lining the inside of that bin with a garbage bag with ties, when full, open lid, undo the twisted bag into the liner bag and tie immediately, take it away
@while_you_nap
@while_you_nap Год назад
Yes! That would actually be a great plan :D We are now into very stinky nappy territory so that's needed!😂
@jonathanyeung2699
@jonathanyeung2699 Год назад
That's what I do, have quite a surplus of the ocado carrier bags ... Loop the carrier bag handles over the side buttons, and change every 1-2 days (15-20 nappies).

@@jonathanyeung2699 I think that makes a lot of sense!

Couldn’t you take the lid off just outside the back door, then air the bin for a few minutes. I think I’d then tip it upside down so all the nappy snake goes into a smaller white bin bag (50l?) and then tie that off
@while_you_nap
@while_you_nap Год назад
Do you mean instead of using their own bin bags? I think you'd definitely save money using normal bin bags rather than buying theirs but I think if you didn't put any bin ban into it at all it would be quite stinky! We've just moved to weaning and those nappies are a whole new ball game! 😬
@beauty_buys_uklisa3868
@beauty_buys_uklisa3868 Год назад
@@while_you_nap I meant rather than lifting it up so they all untangle I’d probably just tip them all into another small 50L bin bag and tie that off and put it in the bin. It’s not good that they still smell tho. I guess they’re festering away in there! I have it all to look forward to in 2 months 😷 😝

if the nappies are in plastic tied at each end how does the smell get out?
@while_you_nap
@while_you_nap Год назад
When you're using it, the bag is tied at the bottom but it's open at the top under the lid - you do twist the bag at the top but that's it... I just don't think the bag seals in the smell as well as other bags 😬When you empty it you do tie it off, but you have to open it up before you can tie it! I've never tied a bag so quickly 🤣

I use the trash bin deodorant. Sorry idk the exact name but its a sticker with gel that kills any trashbin scent. It stick onto the lid.

I have had the angel care bin & recently received this bin as a gift and honestly, this is far too complicated. Also its wasteful cos it unravels meaning you waste plastic. Im contemplating just going back to my angel care.

Sorry but surely you take the bin to your outside household bin, and throw the ring away…. Ultimately it’s a bag full of shit so it won’t smell great haha
@while_you_nap
@while_you_nap Год назад
Haha very good point! 🤣 It's the mad dash to the outside bin that gets me, and the worlds quickest open and close of the bin too! The plastic ring stays attached until it's run out as it's got the liner in for a few bin fulls, so you do have to take the time to cut it off and re tie it etc... again, as quickly as you possibly can 🤣

protip: empty the bin every 5 nappies. shouldnt smell as bad as when there are 30 nappies. youse welcome.

I just don't know if I have the energy to change it every 5 nappies! 🤣 I think it's meant to fit quite a few before you change it... this one has been sent to the office so it gets used less frequently now 🤣
