Went to see Tommy at Garden Rocks Epcot friday 3/10/23 two shows and let me shout out IT WAS AWESOME each show was the absolutely best, brought me right back to the Boston concert at The University of New Mexico the PIT 1979 my sister Frances Kendra and Rick and myself..
I saw Brad Delp during the 1987 Third Stage tour. I will always love that I saw Boston ALMOST at their peak. Tommy does a great job with vocals. I wish however he'd show a bit more enthusiasm on stage! maybe just a little bit of Arniel Pineda's energy! haha.
Wow, I remember when it was just Tommy and his kids and they were posting about some local gigs on Facebook. Wish I'd know they were gonna be in Epcot back in April!
I love Tommy DeCarlo and I love his story. He sings effortlessly in that high vocal range. But he needs some tambourine lessons! Also I'm surprised to see Tom Scholz allowing these songs to be played without him. Scholz is a genius but seems to be very particular.
I haven't seriously checked, but I'm not sure they are playing in the same key as Boston live. It sounded like the vocals were slipping into the Boston key. But they could be the same for all I know. There was something wonky 99.9% of people wouldn't catch nor care about. Could be monitors, but I doubt it. I still think the band sounds great and landing August Zandra was a big get - dude's a monster player and singer. I don't think Tom Scholz cares about touring that much anymore. As long as Tommy DeCarlo keeps his tour wording the way it is, he can make some money and Boston gets the free publicity. Tom Scholtz, as the publisher of these songs, is rich af. He probably pays Tommy DeCarlo plenty when they are on tour, but they're not on tour. Dude has to make a living and keep his voice sharp. Tom Scholz has a singer constantly warming up to Boston songs. Pretty huge win for him. Even though Tom Scholz has bounced a lot of good musicians from Boston, I can see why he would be ok with this band - as long as they don't suck. And to be sure, they do not. Nicely done, in fact.
Good to see Tommy out there and kicking some butt. He's certainly not getting a paycheck from Boston. 6 albums in 40 some odd years...come on. I just don't get it
@@Silverpinstudios Walter is fantastic. He has played with Survivor for a few years and i believe is currently with the Babys whenever they resume touring.
