Tommy breathes, walks and sleeps music, especially his trend of 'fingerstyle'.He's the best out there and continues to inspire millions of people around the world. What a talent!!!
I've been fortunate enough to see each of them perform in small clubs- it always makes me realize my own guitars might as well be firewood. The best part of their live shows is seeing people play with such joy- especially Tommy Emmanuel, who makes it seem like there is no place on earth he would rather be than playing for you. In addition, both are very decent human beings, which is increasingly rare in music these days.
Tommy and Frank Show. Now this is Great Guitar Playing and entertainment. These two wearing it out and smiling like mules eating saw briars. OMG Awesome....
You gotta be kidding!! This is like a backstage pickup jam. The bass player just chimes in, in stride. These guys need their own COOKING show on cable. WOW
I agree godfather...people who can play like this on guitar...advanced funk, blues, or genre for that matter...coolest people on earth. i aspire to become as skilled as them.
Tommy Emmanuel, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo & Gary Mazzaroppi on bass. My pals - playing one of my favorite Django tunes, it can't get better than that! WIth these guys Tennessee doesn't just shine it novas. J'attendrai...
i saw him years ago in my home town a few nights. simply the best acoustic playing, my 2 cents, and his guitar sound was out of this world LOUD and so clear... great to see him the get recognition he deserves..
Man that Frank has such feel. And Tommy what can you say. Yep I’m going to put my guitar in the local Goodwill....... giving it away in fact no, trash can right now, it’s over
Well ! What can I say.. Just amazing if your not a guitar player you can't imagine how cool this really is... I have six guitars and when I see these guys playing like this I feel like burning them all... What a treat to watch !!
@Analist It was a real honor filming them, and I'll tell you that none of them stopped playing from the moment they hit the door until they left that night. It was amazing.
Just love this swing jazz. I grew up listening to this music as my mum was so into it, and well me, I just love it. Tommy and Frank are just unbelievable guitarists. I play guitar and could watch this over and over again. Such class professionalism.
I can't stop imagining Django watching this if he went to a TE concert. I mean, Django was brilliant -- in his genre -- but I can't help thinking he would go "Wtf was that ...?" in some sections. Tommy is a master of so many different styles, and he cross plays them in situations which defy all rules and expectations.
Wow, and this was just backstage! I have yet to get a note out of a guitar let alone create something musical from one! Tommy and Frank, you are amazing people. Thanks much!
they recorded at least one or two albums together during the time this was filmed, it looks like. This arrangement in particular is off the album. @@stangosnell1201
Jeremiah LongBear here, I shot the video. No rehearsal! Those guys are so incredible. I wish you could have been there. They just all assembled, Tommy picked a song, and they started. It was amazing.
Yeah. THE MOST amazing thing about Tommy is that he's so externalised (focussed on others and ambient joy) rather than that intense concentration so many players have to use by looking at their chords and notes. It's as if Tommy just starts his hands off for each song and then forgets about them. They do the playing while he has fun!
Of course I missed thanking Gary the masterful bass man, thanks also dude, you really make good things happen and maybe don't get much credit. You sir I think indeed rock!
I just keep coming back to this:..............................It seems I can't get enough. Then again I get so bummed that the time it needs to figure this playing for myself is taking way to long. You have to love it. Thanks for showing and sharing!
@Analist Two super pros - artists at their craft have a great time doing what they do. The professionalism of Vignola is admirable, top shelf and Tommy, well that's the way the guitar should sound in the hands of a master the likes of both of these fine men.
I'm completely addicted to Tommy, Frank, Vinny and Gary . Thank you so much for posting this excellent version of Swing 42...this is the best version I've heard so far. It really stands out because of the great harmonies added. This is a very good video !
