Tommy Kono won the most Olympic medals in the sport of weightlifting for the USA. He later went on to compete and train others in other sports and challenges. He achieved greatness despite asthma and other handicaps, One of our great athletes who sadly passed this past week. He will long be remembered in the weightlifting circles of great champions.

Years earlier Tommy had been in a U.S. Japanese internment camp as a 12 year old, even though he was born in California.

Really sort of a shame how the media has treated this all time great as he is hardly due the publicity and credit that he is due but I never heard anyone from his camp or him complaining one bit about that for those of us that KNOW the truth that’s all that really matters
