Padres fans do not seem particularly fond of newly acquired Diamondbacks outfielder (and former Padres outfielder) Tommy Pham. After Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, Pham detailed a pair of troubling encounters with Padres fans.

This dude has so much sadness behind his eyes. He’s just an easy target due to his sensitivities, insecurities and the inability to control his anger that has shown time and time again. Don’t think it’s a coincidence that he has been with as many teams as he has in such a short amount of time. I’m sure he’s a “hoot” in the clubhouse smh

In College I threw 4 TD passes and ran for 3 TD as I got to the Tunnel...guy screams at me and says "you ain't Shit" ... !!!! That was 40 yrs ago but can still see/hear him like it just happened .... All Coach cud say was "Fans are Fickle"... I laughed then And still laugh now !!

This young man paid his dues. About 8 years of Minor league. I've known him since he was 11. He used to come over and play pool with my son. He has a lot of heart.

It doesn't matter what sport you play, fans are gonna bad mouth you. Is some of it warranted? No, but it comes with the territory of being in professional sports. The way to handle it is to ignore it, don't speak to or address the fans. Let it go. By speaking to the fans only worsens it. His job is to play, not argue with the fans during a game.
