So sad, this one hurts, it hurts. We’ve lost a true Australian, a great rugby league player and I’m sure a family member that will be missed by all of the family.
J G in Australia and new Zealand the weaker men unable to play rugby, play soccer. Rugby isn’t a popularity contest, it’s for the best men in the land.
Tommy was an absolute legend, and the one thing I’ll always believe shows you how respected Tommy was. Despite Kevin Walters and Laurie spina absolutely schooling Langer in the origin trial in 87, Tommy told dud beatie that langer was an absolute must for origin. Such was Tommy’s respect and aura dud beatie over ruled Bennett he over ruled the rest of the selection panel, and single handedly gave Queensland an icon the broncos its greatest player and me my hero. Just let that sink in a new south Welshman influenced a Queensland selection and because of how much integrity Tommy had his word was taken and his word was gold. You don’t get that from many if any others.
Rip tommy they don't make em like you mate, you were so passionate about NSW and rugby league in general, love you for being yourself! Hard as nails, no nonsense and all heart RIP
Yvonne Sampson..uR a Beautiful Woman!! Thankz for sharing this..much appreciated!! R.i.P to the TRUE LEGEND of LIFE & Rugby League!! I BLEED BLUE!! YesSiRr!!
Tommy and the boys were the players i fashioned my game on as a kid, and he is right it was a different time and a different game in many ways back then, i have to shed a tear for the loss of an era with Tommy's passing and a period in my life that will always have fond memories and of a time that will never exist again, we love you Tom Thank you for the memories they will live on.
Couldnt help but tear up 😢 Great interview, even when his time was up you can feel the passion in his voice what a Legend now go ruffle some feathers in Heaven I'm sure you already have rest in peace
As an oliphant this hits hard Greg held tommy in the highest repeats and always kept contact so hearing this news knocked me back a hell of a lot of steps. A man couldn’t be stronger was a fighter since a kid. RIP tommy
As a pom ref , met this guy in Brisbane 2008 after he lost a Tommy Raudonikis look a like competition the week before. He was everything i love about Rugby League in a nutshell
Thanks to Tommy and Big John Donnelly for being gentlemen and keeping a watchful, brotherly eye on my young sister at the Irish club - legends. RIP and thanks for the memories.
My genuine condolences to his family. My favourite memory was driving along Wynnum Road, Morningside, and Tommy was driving his seafood truck, with a cigarette in the same hand that held his mobile, and he was eating a chicken leg as well. I still laugh every time I remember it.
Thank you Tommy. In and era of greatness, you stood head and shoulders above the best on the field.. It was always privilege to watch you play, Cattle dog. From a lifelong South Sydney supporter.
As a youngster I used to watch West’s At Lidcombe Oval. I’d stand by the tunnel so I could pat Tommy, Dallas Donnelly & Les Boyd as they ran onto the field. My all-time favourite Rugby League player and sportsman!!
From all us Battlers out West right through to everyone who follows the greatest game ever played we say "Thankyou, Tommy". In a game that has had it's fair share of changes over the years you alway's remained the same with your straight talking and values and beliefs. Rugby League has lost a true legend and Australia has lost an icon.Rest In Peace, Cattle Dog.
Great man, tough as nails, heart of gold and straight as an arrow. My grandpa the year he died, didn't have a lot of his memory short or long term. He could still speak about Tommy Raudonikis and Kevin Ryan all day, he was a life member of the Bulldogs, but spoke about Tommy more than any other. RIP
Handed me the most outstanding junior player for the Western Suburbs district back in 93 at the Ingleburn bowling club. One of my best memories of the game and my mates.🇦🇺 Cheers Mr Raudonikis and may the footy gods let u R.I.P . Love and respect to the Raudonikis family xo
Every week he gave his body & soul to League for 80 minutes of war. I’ll miss Tommy as much as I miss those days. RIP Tommy “Cattledog” Raudonikis, thanks for all you did for our game.
A true Aussie Icon - sincere condolences to Tommy's family and friends. As a "Queenslander" I hated Tommy on the field but truly admired his skill, tenacity and his obvious love of the the game - and In later years, I always looked forward to Tommy's commentary and on his spots on talk-back radio. He will be sorely missed by all.
Tommy, we'll miss you big time but never forget! The only MAN in the game with pure passion for this great game of ours! RIP. Hope you're having a beer with big Arthur 🍻 "Cattle Dog" forever!!💪
Tommy will live on as a true legend of the game. He said it the best. The reason people loved and trusted him was he was himself. And thats why we love him. The old era of Rugby League ... when players knew that they would have to truly fight for the win has now passed. RIP mate. You will be missed.
What Ted Whitten was to AFL, Tommy Raudonikis definitely was to the NRL. A treasure and a legend of not just the game but in the history of the league.
Vale Tommy the legend. I reckon you and Arty are sitting in the front bar in heaven right now catching up over a beer .Sincere condolences to you wife and family.
