Tommy had a good few hits in the late 50’s, but wasn’t able to sustain his chart successes as pop music by 1960 saw the rise of a plethora of British pop singers like Billy Fury and Cliff Richard, who were more in tune with teenage audiences. Tommy made the right decision to broaden his show biz horizons and switch to films, and later the stage, where he demonstrated his dancing and acting skills. Tommy Steele was not the greatest pop singer in the world, and once the hits dried up, his decision to move away from pop music was a wise and more profitable one.
It's awesome that they are still together all these decades later. She looks like a rather normal, girl next door type, not the model/groupie type that so many musicians tend to marry and quickly find out that its not going to work out. Cheers to the happy couple! 🥂
He must have been in agony walking down the aisle with those crippling flat feet that stopped him from doing his national service. I'm sure he would have preferred to have been in Germany digging trenches for £2 per week.
