I'd thought Harimoto would take the game in a breeze but how wrong i was. Dmitriy came out guns blazing. Wow! Great match. Harimoto took the cake. Very emotional player,loses concentration easily,but so much improved and much mature. Well done Harimoto.

That's what you get with the plastic balls, slug fests. can't do those spin artistic styles anymore and be competitive.

@@zingsting9595 I found the change to the 40 mm ball was bad for my spin game but never played with the new plastic ball. Sounds even worse. Actually it also seems to sound worse to my ear as well, almost sounds like a broken ball at times when listening on headphones.

Harimoto is very stable with respect to position. He stays a bit closer to the table than Ovtcharov, and was able to move Ovtcharov around a bit. All it takes a little loss of balance or out of position and the percentage/reliability drops a bit. Since the margins are small, that's often enough to squeak out a win when neither player really dominates and both have a chance for the win, like in this match,

А его тренер похоже, что нет. Харимото втянул его в длительные розыгрыши далеко от стола, Дима на драйве ввязался в это, силы кончились. Тренеру нужно было обратить внимание.

Dima's game is so standard except his serve that it brings best in the opponent's game. His bh and fh are so perfect w.r.t spin and speed that he plays multiple rallies and loses points in most of them. Anyone else noticed this OR is it just a hypothesis?

Отличный матч. Дмитрий набрал форму, очень сфокусирован и нацелен на победу. Но наверное пора уходить от силовой игры, как Ма Лонг - тот последнее время только мячики откидывает на половину соперника и выигрывает почти все за счет опыта и класса. Харимото можно поздравить с тактической победой, затащил Диму в тяжелые розыгрыши, измотал его и выиграл на выносливости.
