This has always been one of my favorite John Lennon songs, back when he was still with The Beatles. The words and message of this song are cosmic and soothing, while the music is pure chaos. Syncopated and relentless, the drums and bass pound away against a random background of backwards recorded guitar. This stripped down version is the first draft, of a song I’ve always wanted to do. There is no other way to approach it, but as an experiment. Yes, this giant Petri dish is out of control.
