This is the opening third of the British Rail route training video no. 236 - Tonbridge to Hastings. It covers the journey from Tonbridge to Etchingham via Tunbridge Wells, Frant and Wadhurst.
The legal bit:
This is a non- commercial British Rail training video. I post it here purely for the interest of enthusiasts. British Rail as an entity no longer exists.

Just that arcing 73 at 4:50 is worth the watching this video for!!! 😂 Lovely to see old BR just before the Tory Witch sold it off and destroyed its soul.

I remember these days , jaffa cake livery 4 ceps, newly refurbished too. I got a cab on one of the last Hastings units up to charing Cross and back in about April 1985 ish just b4 electrification . I live in Hastings now and use this line often . Now electrostars 375 s .-bud the painter-

And the old oil tanker siding beside the up line . I remember the oil trains trundling into there with an ED 73 in charge .

Hiya, was this video filmed in the 1980s? It looks as if it was filmed a long time ago as there are slam door trains. I love looking at these.

Network South East dreadful train and station liveries. Bring back the proper c1950s British Railways (Southern Region) livery for both trains and stations. Good video of Tonbridge to Costa Del Hastings Line.

why are u taking the time to search it & watch it then?? ? u can take the mick all u like but people make Big money doing jobs like driving trains, much more fun aswell than sitting on a motorway stuck in traffic, if u dont like em.. dont watch em, simple really, b a pretty boring world if everyone had the same interests,
