Fender's new Highway Series represents a bold new take on acoustic guitars built for live performance. In this demo of the Highway Series Parlor, we experience a guitar crafted with either a solid Sitka spruce top inlaid into a fully chambered Mahogany body. This guitar is engineered with Fender's proprietary internal architecture that includes a tapered floating X bracing pattern and inventive thinline design. The result is a small body guitar with remarkable resonance and dynamics that produces a rich organic tone.

I like the form but there's something, about all the demos I have seen, putting me off. The sounds lacks definition. It's brittle and tiring to listen to. It feels like there's a constant underlying white noise. When the music stops, it's like I'm glad it's finished and that's certainly not coming from the player. It doesn't mean the guitar doesn't have any applications. Maybe as part of a band it sits somewhere. It might still be enjoyable to play. I'd have to try one.

Not a Fender pick up, it’s a Fishman fluence. And these guitars sound way better live with your ears instead of through your tablet or computer speakers, particularly with a good acoustic amp or a PA. They are light ,very comfortable to play.

@@im58woodyor add the same microphone found in the Fishman rare earth blend, another Fishman soundhole pickup. An anthem would be nice but a magnetic pickup is still better than an undersaddle piezo

I wonder if these would work better as an acoustic for use in a band setting, for an electric guy. The tone doesn't sell it to me by itself.

Yeeah, no one wanted to hear an acoustic guitar........acoustically. That would be crazy! We wanted to hear it through that horrible, brittle $2 built-in pickup.

Fishman Fluence pickups aren't exactly $2 under-bridge piezos. More comparable to a LR Baggs. I think these sound great myself. And I'm not expecting a 2" parlor guitar to sound that great acoustically. Unplugged, I just want it to be super ergonomic and audible, like my Acoustasonic Tele.

Not worth a grand, sorry, we can wait till GC puts them on clearance like they’re doing now with those horrible acoustasonic teles and jazz masters, pure junk. High action, chalk fretboard, Crap.
