Sounds great man. I personally find the NAM captures come out better than tonex… and it’s also free/open source. Definitely worth checking out! Great vid!
The ToneX is good, up to a point. I can't find any captures, full rig or DI, that can deal with my Headless Metal V 7 string, which is in D-G-C-F-A#-D-G with 13,17,32w,42,52,68,80 gauges. Any recommendations would be welcome. I have to use some serious boost pedals into my interface and even then only a few amp sims can handle it well.
Btw capturing some amp/head sound does NOT equal to reproducing them. There’s a difference in distortion chain itself, and just frequency response. There’s more to distortion, like all those harmonics and dynamic distortions and even the dynamics add their signature response. In other words, even if you equalize two real amps to the same frequency response, they won’t sound and feel the same
