The sad part about all the replies before mine is that there will be a day of reckoning -- God will judge. But in the meantime, here's what goes on in a Christian's life. We know we are not supreme beings and that there is a power that exists and guides us. I can't explain how I know that I'm loved by God except to say He does answer my prayers -- sometimes it's not the answer I want but His answer turns out better. God keeps me humble and it's usually uncomfortable when I find out I've been wrong. Then I know I'm forgiven and I see another path-- a path that isn't self gratifying but is kinder and I like myself more and appreciate things I once rejected as being insignificant. This probably won't make sense to people that are determined to live life on their terms, until God reveals Himself to them. And hopefully that won't be on judgement day -- the day of reckoning.

I have no problem with the belief of others so don't get upset if I believe in God. There are a lot of stuff that science still can't explain either. Scientists are still leaning on intelligent design so what or whom was the intelligent force behind the design? And if we evolved by chance why we got both male and female species in almost every living thing? Why we got the right proportion of each gas in our atmosphere to support life. The earth is tilted at s specific angle to give us our seasons. Seems like we had a smart evolution with a brain of it's own? If evolution is a process where is the continuity???

I’m really curious about marine life in the area.. I hope some studies will be done soon to see the true impact underwater. I imagine just like how birds and other animals flee before natural disasters, fish probably did the same. I’m sure the devastation was incredible.

I just called my uncle in Tonga they had photos of hundred of dead fish floating after the explosions and tsunami waves swept them all inland (tsunami didn't go far much inland maybe 20-30ish m inland)

@@b2manufacturing 1816 was an entirely different kettle of fish. It was an abnormally cool time even before Tambora, and a time of low solar activity and ejected a much larger amount of material. Where that had an effect of cooling temperatures by whole degrees globally, this will be lucky to get to anywhere close to half a degree for even just the entire southern hemisphere.

thoes satalites which have thoes images are weather satalite and not really equipt to Zoom in to the tiny islands. Planes are having problems getting to it because of the ash thats why only a couple of aircraft so far, and its a 10hr round trip from New Zealand. Boats will take a week to get there. its a very long way away from anywhere.

It's interesting that the cloud of ash assumed hexagonal sexagonal shapes briefly, perhaps due to the electric current from the bowels of the Earth to the ionosphere. The lightning strikes were constant and powerful.

Tonga is 40 miles away from the volcano. They wouldn't be effected by the actual blast, just ocean waves and falling ash.

Makes me think we need to develope means of rescue in the event of worse volcanoes. Either like ships that can get through tsunamis or planes/helicopters that can fly through the ash.

Large ships have no problem with tsunamis waves if they are already in relatively deep water. A tsunami is only truly dangerous when it gets closer to shallow waters and coastlines. No plane or helicopter can fly through a volcanic ash cloud, however and I don't see a way to develop one that could.

Lots of sailing boats were stuck there already so there’s lots of videos from the Utube sailors of both the volcano and all the damage. There’s lots of ash covering virtually everything.

There's been volcanic & earthquake increases over the past 15 -20 years . Magnitudes have increased , as has frequency of events . Tonga , sits at the edge of an abyss , much as many of the islands heading south . There's the "Tonga Trench, which runs into the Kermadec Trench , which connects with the Kahurangi subduction zone off New Zealand s east coast - this , when it moved over 12years ago , caused damages that are still being fixed . White Island , is out of bounds to all now , as it's activity has been ongoing from it's eruption a few years ago , catching tourists & locals alike . There are volcanically active lakes and mountains here , Taupo , being the most notable lake , @ 55 sq miles in area & over 900 feet deep in places , and Mts Nagrahoe , Tongariro and Reuapehu - which has a Crater lake , and 2 ski fields on it . The largest extinct caulderars , are the 2 on which Auckland is built . And I live in a city riddled with fault lines , with a harbour like San Francisco's , without a Golden Gate or other highways across the harbour . Namaste 🙏

Yeah I have to imagine this thing was the size of the yellowstone super volcano. The eruption was like half the size of all of Australia. Wouldn't be surprised if the entire world sees a light ash cloud over the next few months. Gotta hope we're all still able to grow food and have clean water. That's really gotta be the main concern over the next year or 2. This was enormous.

They dont realise that it could happen here as NZ has quite a few volcanoes of our own. If it happened here, those same people would not comprehend someone not donating for them. @@Danny451 which is nothing because we aren't pilots. Even if we were you can't just take any ol'employers plane out to do whatever you want with. Even if you could you'd probably need a seaplane of some sort since the airport is probably going to be flooded. Even if you had a seaplane you probably couldn't fit more than 4 people inside it at a time anyways and then fly alllll the way to safety somewhere. Even if you could fly them all the way to safety then there has to be somewhere that has an aid shelter setup. Even if there was somewhere with an aid shelter setup you'd have to have money and somewhere to refuel every trip too I bet. Even if you had money to refuel between every trip you'd have to fly in the lightning storm the volcano made. Even... If...

COVID is real. The full ICUs, and straight up full hospitals, across the USA are obvious proof of that. Tonga didn't stay COVID free by not being careful; it is understandable if they are hesitant to subject themselves to a more long-term health crisis in order to more easily resolve a short-term health crisis.

@@TheIamyourmother my entire family has had Covid. Prefer it over the common cold. That includes a 7 month old a 3 year old an 8 year old an 11 year old a 13 year old and two mid 30 year olds. Non of us even close to going to the hospital. Same goes for my coworkers and everyone else we know that was in good health to begin with. Where are you getting your information? Forgot to mention all at the same time.

I had Covid in August, it out me in the hospital for over a week. Then I was on supplemental oxygen for a month after being discharged from the hospital. Covid-19 is very real.
