Great informative video!! However, keep in mind that should anyone opt to install the included screen protector in this case bundle, on their Galaxy S24 Ultra, you will lose the anti reflective properties that Samsung has coated the original Galaxy S24 Ultras screen with, unless that included screen protector also has an anti reflective coating on it as well.
Hi! Very true! In fact, I would go so far as to say the vast majority if screen protectors, plastic or tempered glass are likely not going to be as good as the Samsung S24 Ultra screen itself. In my testing so far, most have not come very close. That being said, I'd still rather have a protective material over the screen than not.
I NEVER tbought I would use anything other than an Otterbkx for my phones. I've never used anything else....until now. I got tired of the rubberized outer shell of the Otterbox defender getting loose over time AND they never update their case designs. They've been the same since they started selling them! But this case is AMAZING for the sliding camera cover alone! I wouldn't recommend using the built-in screen cover because it makes registering fingerprints impossible. I've dropped my phone twice with this case on it and not even a ding on the case. And the holster adds even more protection. I would encourage all Otterbox junkies to give this one a try.
Hey! Glad you're liking the case! I think while OtterBox is an OG case manufacturer, there's certainly a lot of good competition out there nowadays. I didn't have issues with the fingerprint sensor while using the screen protector but it's going to be different for every person. I completely agree on the strength and design of the case, this was a solid case model from Tongate. That's kind of why I started doing case reviews - I wanted to see if some of the more budget friendly cases could compete in terms of overall protection. The Ultra series phones aren't cheap, I feel they merit some excellent case protection!

Hi! Interesting question, I don't necessarily have any empirical data to share at the moment but as far as comparing this generally to other similar cases of this design, I would say it's about average for a bigger more protective type of case. Where I live, it can be up to 100F in the summer and 0F in the winter and all over in between but I know that many people live in warmer climates so this data may be useful. I can say that while I don't notice the case even getting warm during gaming or video playback or even USB-C charging, I do notice the case getting warm (but not dangerous) during wireless charging. I have ideas rolling around in my head for testing this in terms of ambient temperatures and SoC temp as reported by something like CPU-z. Collecting this kind of data is definitely a goal but it will take some time to work out the methodology and discern what is meaningful. I've seen people most curious about temperatures when it comes to climates that can reach 40-45C or people who want to record in 4k during peak warmth on warm days. I'm curious though, why do you ask this? Have you had overheating issues in the past? If so, what scenarios? (video recording, charging in the sun or in your car?)

Heck yeah! I *think* when you pre-order from Samsung they typically ship a few days before general launch. Excited for some more in depth testing and to figure out if the small bump in cost results in anything meaningful for us :) Did you select a case or case/screen protector yet?

@@freddyferguson7763 Nice! I haven't worked with Zagg much, my partner had a screen protector on her Apple watch from them though, I remember it being a nice setup. I must admit I'm somewhat out of the loop on mobile gaming but in taking a quick look at this, it looks very nifty. I'll have to dig into this a bit more!
Sorry for the late reply here, I was out of the office. I prefer the tempered glass but to be honest, I've used the plastic built in screen protectors for a long time on various phones and they have worked well. I think the glass will hold up better over the long term however.
Never thought about a case in this style that was transparent or translucent, might be a nifty addition to Tongates lineup. Do you have an S24Ultra? What case did you go with?
Hi would you recommend this one more or the supcase versions? The unicorn beetle and ub mag, I like the cam covering feature but I am not sure which one has the better materials/survivability, what would you pick or recommend more ?
I quite like both of these cases to be honest. Both have a lot of TPU material to protect the phone. I like the colors on the SUPCASE just a little bit more than Tongate but, if you think you need that added layer of a camera door, the Tongate has it. Did you end up selecting one of these?

Does the film that must be inserted manually cover the entire screen? because the one I found in my box was (small) and left part of the phone screen exposed.

No, it was actually test/model phone. I usually try to wait for getting the real phone in my hands, but I used a model phone for some videos this year. After I got through the initial round of case reviews, I re-try them all for a week or two. I like this case - I think the camera door will definitely sway some people towards the case. Like the SUPCases and the Poetic cases, this is a larger case and I think I would like to see just a little bit more texture on the backside of these cases to help increase grip a little bit more. I like this case though, it's a solid option.

While I do like the idea of increasing the IP68 protection or making the case 'waterproof / dustproof' there would definitely be some compromises on volume and case weight and likely installation. What phone / case combo are you using?

Oye, trae dos, uno con un plástico todo feo y otro sin el plástico, ¿En caso de querer usar el de plástico? sugieres quitar esa cosa pegajosa como silicón que viene justo en la huella, o tendrá alguna función. yo no estoy usando el de plástico ni el de cristal templado, ya había gastado en una mica original samsung la antirreflejante, que adquirí desde la tienda online, espero sea igual de resistente que la de cristal templado. porque no quiero usar dos micas en el telefono, y luego la de platico esta fatal su aspecto.
@@leonardo201002 la del plástico feo no la utilizo esta super horrible tengo el cristal como protector y pantalla y el protector de las esquinas y el de atrás así se ha mantenido seguro el plástico es odioso a mi parecer
