I had a plan, tame a Parasaur, and possibly a couple of Direwolves... things went according to plan at first but it didn't take long for chaos to ensue and cause me a world of pain. @2:29:00 the group whistle to "neutral" and defending itselfs is "hyphen" aka minus. The group whistle to "passiv" is "comma". (The whistles only work on not mounted tames.) You did the right thing when you mounted the para and started hitting the bird. Unfortunately you did not see the good damage effect and thought it would not work evenso it did. So you dismounted too early. Besides this you could have tried to ride around and hoping the bird would be caught in the spikes again. (Maybe you disable Friendly Fire in the settings?) However, never say die! Me too has often panicked and lost tames for it. A hundred times maybe. You are on the right track!

@31:25 doedis (stone collectors) always go tank mode when their life bar nears the end. The tank mode deletes the attacker's aggro and reduces the incoming damage but not to zero, so you can slowly tear them down with stone spears or better tools. Doedis team up like the most dinos. That's why the third one engaged. Your wooden spikes are now the new death zone which is good for your ressources as long as you repair the spikes as well.

@2:42:25 Silica Pearls are found in lost streams on SE, like the one where we had a base together on the gone server. The next Silica Deposit near your spiked camp is in the water at the Red Obelisk.

@2:47:00 Instead of reforming your spiked tight straw camp which is already a great achievement (!) and starting point, you could build up a new camp with adobe structures (strong as stone structures) around the 3 water veins nearby. The benefit would be to be free with place and safety. (The wooden spikes are fine for it too.) This project would level your survivor as well. Adobe structures provide the best possible heat protection of all structures.

@1:51:55 The Red Big Flame is the Phoenix Heat (The Phoenix bird has appeared and can be tamed). "To get underground" means a cave or better heat protection as desert cloth set or ghillie armor. The best you can do is sit in your tent and wait as long as you lose life with the regular Yellow Big Flame sign. A Phoenix appearance in the cold night is therefore no issue. Dinos are not at all affected by extreme heat or cold.

@2:01:30 this is another tragic moment where the chat failed to deliver. You said you want metal and it is in fact nearby at the mounts in the west and southwest with several spots. If only you would go further the pan after drinking ... Eddy and father know it best since it was their chosen place for a base. Instead they direct you to go north in the opposite direction ... Well I will soon see how this plays out.

@1:06:30 Enable "floating damage" in the settings to see how much damage you or your spikes inflict or receive. Your incoming death is another bola moment

@11:15 for clarification and metanight100 to check facts first before bad-mouthing: I wrote the analogous comment to EP.3 (so you can read it yourself as a fact check) to not tame morellatops or parasaur until you have a defense perimeter of wooden spikes or a bunch of defense dinos. And I wrote it before LL had set up the wooden spikes. In other words: we are all on the same page with getting a parasaur.
