Agree - so fun to drive around in the winter with a cockpit full of heat under the tonneau. And a well- fitted tonneau gives a thrill every time you look at it.
I had a 72 MGB with a damaged tonneau cover, but in a way that I could stuff the drivers section between the passenger seat and transmission (driveshaft/prop-shaft) hump, preventing the passenger section from flapping. ;-)
Did the "Spice" Bugeye have a Bondo repair between the right rear luggage rack and right rear taillight? It looks like a Bugeye I owned from 1965-68 in Lawton Oklahoma.
