I did this show in high school! IT'S AMAZING! EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT! TELL YOUR DRAMA TEACHER! because seriously, no one has a sucky part. being a chorus member is just as fun as being a lead! everyone has a lot of stage time. I played the pregnant lady! It was so funny dancing with a huge fake belly! my favorite experience in theatre by far!
I played Hope Cladwell in my school's production of Urinetown :) It made me laugh to see her tied up because I remember being tied to a chair for almost the whole 2nd act. That was fun...

I wish the recording was as good as this! Same people, but it doesn't have the "oomph" it has here. Plus, Hunter doesn't hold the falsetto out like he does at 3:35, and he doesn't make them whisper like he does at 2:40. I LOVE him though!!!
I just saw this at my school XD, personally I like the way my school did it, Bobby took Little Becky Two Shoes' brace and used it to empathize the freedom and she fell lol
If you're talking about the C at 3:22 at the climax of that line, I think he handles it just fine... It's the Eb at 3:35 that is kinda wacked out, but it's kinda part of the character :D And the last note is an Ab... still gorgeous though!!
I love this song! It's so catchy! I can't seem to get it out of my head. He's great. Little Sally's pretty funny too. I'm gonna be in my school's production this spring. I can't wait!
I have to agree with you. I know from singing Close Every Door from Joseph that with the higher notes that are more difficult for me to hit, I can let the emotion come out and it's more of the character. Just they way it works out sometime. I still don't know what Urinetown is about though. My choir director informed that's it's satire but that's about all I know. Still love this song though!
just got confirmation that my school is doing it, soo exited that i am one of the best male singers in my school ao i have a good chance at getting a good part
I did as well! Awesome musical to do! So much fun and hard work, the performances rocked! And you're aboslutely right! I was poor person number 13 or something But it was so fun!
I'm looking for the sheet music of the Broadway recording version that Hunter Foster sang. I have the original score but many or the embellishments are quite different. Does anyone here know where I could find it?
hey, do you remember if there was a guitar part in your pit? I play guitar in our jazz band and I can sight read and all that stuff and every year I have want to play in the pit but there is never a part! It sounded like there was at some parts here, but you never know...
It's really the first time I like the dutch version more. The singer i meen. I don't know this guy but I don't really like his voice. But I do most say that the ending was funny!! Look at musical awards urinetown jamai. Have fun :) (PS I don't mean any harm to the fans of hunter cuz I really don't know him).
the dutch version is better i think just because we have a better cop and little girl just watch:P I've been there i was really fantastic:) with Susan Seegers as little girl , Rene van Kooten as cop and Jamai Loman as Bobby Gold
The only time I've been in a show that had to be stopped was earlier this year when i play Kenickie in Grease. It was just after Greased Lightning, people where going crazy and on top of that the smoke machine was on, some dick head outside thought there was a fire, set off the alarm. lmao.
He's such a cutie:-) He kinda petered out on that last high note there, but you know what? He works hard all week and he's hot, so it doesn't matter:-)
