It could well just be a nostalgia thing as I was a teenager then but does anyone else think 90s music just seems so much better than anything around now?
I was rly a late teenager or into music in 00 s and I think 80 s and 90 s was better for sure esp for dance I think now the only good stuff is the more off the cuff, have to dig it out on RU-vid stuff. The charts just all sounds like the same song these days
Thankfully tunes like this ARE our time machine. Those who grew up through the 90s know nostalgia like no other generation. Born in the 70s, schooled through the 80s, raved through the 90s... and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat 💓
@cct7558 I'd go back for 3 days if I could... 3 months or 3 years be better tho... Todays music and 'vibe' anit got nothing on those days, and I'm sooooo glad I lived thro them at the age I did ❤️
We lived and grew up in a great time...seen the world for it is and seen the music evolve...miss them days growing up top the pops dance music take me back.
Remember the days when 1. We had an endless supply of new great music from all genres. So much we took it for granted. 2. We all had loud hifis with decent speakers and paid weekly from the catalogue 😂
1994. I started my particular nightlife career as a gogo dancer and performer. I lived all the evolution of the clubbing scene in Spain and enjoyed it first hand from a truly privileged position for more than 20 years. Best time of my life. Can't hold my tears back when I listen to wonders like this. What a music....put the headphones on and let every single note and sound to invade your soul. Awesome tune. An Electronic Music's masterpiece. I remember the first time I heard it. It instantly became one of my favs. And dancing to it at the club it was almost a mystical experience...Oh WOW. I would give part of my soul to be back at least for one more night...LOL. I finally said it.
Rosana, i hear you. The 90's was an awesome decade for clubbing. Im 48 now, and i too would give anything for just 1 more night back then. Dancing my little skinny butt off night. Loved it.
Why do we keep going back to top tunes such as this ? Because they are absolute timeless classics which bring back many happy memories of carefree weekends on the dance floors
90 where a blast...no social media and lack of mobile phones. No quick access and fix to music...just clubs and having to go buy the record or if your luck get it on CD.. or your mate will give you a copy on cassette Haha brillant. Rewind...back to the 90s...take me back to DJing in clubs and bars.😊
I am proud and happy I was able to experience the rave scene and survived it. An amazing time. I never seen one fight or argument at any rave I was at. Just pure love . I wish I could turn the clocks back.🙏🏴
Me too I was laughing about this with my buddy today. Dad used to always play this in the motor 😹 Cheese classic nowdays Got it on vinyl up in the loft somewhere. I'm gonna dust it off and play it soon
I like it as much now as I did 28 years ago when it first came out. This tune never dates and was such an unusually cool record to cross over and make Number 1 in the UK pop charts. Kiss FM were playing this from the word go so you'd always hear it driving around London coming out of cars - it takes me straight back.
Poor Antonio seems to be having some issues holding his liquor, just been done for homophobic and racist abuse of two police officers in separate incidents, as well as criminal damage and assault of another police officer. So sad.
I listened to this in my car every morning going to work on my cassette player. Play, rewind, play again. It's a cracker tune and it makes me sad those times have past and I'm never getting them back again. Kids listen to such rubbish music now or is it just another sign of me getting old....
Sommer 94 ...1. Mädelsurlaub...Es ist 30 Jahre her.
Used to like this song It always reminds me of being around my dad's on the Sunday morning when Ayrton Senna died on 1st May 1994. Can distinctly remember it being on the TV while I was having my breakfast. Music can really stir your memories.
Fooking nostalgia overload! I don't think I've even heard this tune since I was a kid in the early 90's. OH DANG! I'm going on a nostalgic 90's dance music binge! It's 'actually' like going back in a time-machine. The feeling I'm getting is quite hard to describe, but beautiful!
If I can't have you Got to be you Real thing If I can't have you Got to be you Real thing Come on, stay tonight Come on, soothe my mind Oh, honey (Got to be you, real thing) I've been holdin' on I've been lookin' for the real thing Waitin' patiently But I never stopped believin' Say I'm chasin' rainbows Livin' in a dream Girl, I kept my fantasy I'm never givin' in I'll tell you why, oh, why If I can't have you I don't want nobody, baby Girl, it's got be you Oh, I need the real thing If I can't have you I don't want nobody, baby Girl, it's got be you I don't need no substitute I need the real thing Had a part time love But I never fell completely But when you touch me there Ooh, you get me reelin', yes you do Can I dare to wonder If it could be you? Girl, you set my heart on fire When I dream of you I wanna fly, oh so very high If I can't have you I don't want nobody, baby Girl, it's got be you Oh, I need the real thing If I can't have you I don't want nobody baby Girl, it's got be you I don't need no substitute I need the real thing If I can't have you Got to be you Real thing Come on, stay tonight Come on, soothe my mind, oh honey (Got to be you, real thing) Come on, stay tonight Come on, soothe my mind, oh honey (Got to be you, real thing)
I couldn't help but feel that Tony was the spitting image of Steve Perry from the American rock band Journey. But anyway, I bought the cassette single back in 1994 itself when I was 12. Still have the cassette and I still love this song. The 90's was an epic time of phenomenal dance music like this classic and it has stayed with me.
