hahah exactly, that post fight interview was so dumb, people around tony need to have a real talk with him, he has no business fighting still. and if he honestly believes he looked goood out there today he needs legit mental help. his mind is gone, 100%.
@@bo1g3rhow r his ppl going to stop him??? Force him on the bed, sedate him and put him in a straitjacket? Either he sees the light himself or somehow another person will make him see it, either violently or not.
"There's a lot of things I need to work on." Bruh, you're 40, you dont have time to work on a lot of things and get better. You kind of are what you are at 40 in the fight game. You had a hell of a career. You're an all time fan favorite. You've shown elite toughness and a willingness to scrap anybody, anywhere, any time. You have nothing left to prove to any of us. Plz just retire and enjoy your family. We want you walking and talking normal in your old age. Ya done good, Tony. Ya done good
@@sinclairj7492 he barely hit his prime??? An 8 fight losing streak doesn't suggest he is in his prime. At all. Is winning included in his "plan?" He might not even be on the UFC roster anymore, let alone get a title shot. The dudes at the top of the division will really hurt him at this point in his career
Tony says the same thing every time. "I feel better than ever". "I'm a new man". "I sparred for the first time in 7 years". I doubt he ever wins another fight again. Even if he goes to boxing he will get KOd
@@Bingus2000Actually it really does. Before he got choked out by Bobby Green he said he doesn’t even feel like he’s peaked in his prime yet. At 39 years old. Guy is delusional as fuck.
Haha. Poor Tony. He looked so slow and bad. Age did a number on him. Compare him to RDA…RDA is old but still looks good. Tony looks like I feel every morning when I wake up-my back hurts, my feet hurt, and I move in slow motion.
yes and he claims, post fight, he only needs to up his ground game; like he didn't know were Chiesa was about....🤣 His downhill thing started when he didn't get to fight Khabib and he "lost a part of himself"....🤔 The only thing that, maybe/ possibly, could help him, is if team Khabib would adopt him.🤗
I get it people love him, but he has a fragile ego and can't admit that he is beyond finished, he went from the longest win streak to the longest losing steak in UFC history.
@@ognano he didn’t receive much dmg in the fight he was rlly happy next fight he going win by decision or fighters empathy to not kill em. Also BJ Penn is still tied with Tony since he got 1 punched KO’d by some random drunk blob
@@stx1uhbro I fuckin love Tony Ferguson but are we even serious right now? "He's gonna win his next fight by decision"? He's lost several by decision since being on this losing streak
@@raul5081 Tony puts 1 glove in the octagon = half retirement 🤯 never been done b4. Then he does a post fight press conference puts on a persona of everything is OK, when it's not...tells us after arguably the worst loss streak, he has more in the tank... Then lies to the whole world and says he is going to talk to his wife about retiring when he did a half retirement without talking to her... Thats what I mean
@@ISGImstillgrowing Tony does have a unique way of thinking and speaking lol. He'll announce his retirement, then leave one glove in the ring, then somehow unretire at the post fight press conference lol
No one in the right and sane mind, throwing away one glove in the octagon, then he rethinks about it and decided to continue in UFC. Khabib was right about him.
Yeah when nothing you say makes sense it's pretty easy to do that. You just talk and are completely unhindered by the need to construe logical coherent thoughts that address actual components of the conversation at hand.
I love the 'Tony Ferguson the type of guy' comments as much as anyone, but if you're a real fan of Tony Ferguson, you'd stop with those comments and respectfully tell him to retire. He needs to do that before he takes irreversible damage, if he hasn't already that is. As a fan - Tony, it's time. I can't think of another fighter who has not won a title that inspires so much love and admiration from so many people. That's your legacy, and it's a beautiful one. Hang it up brother, you have nothing left to prove.
Its actually so bizarre how he still thinks he can get on a run especially with that style he threw 2 jabs in 3mins looking like a amateur like there has to be some sense in him to know its over
@@jleonlove7965 I dunno. I feel like his last few fights his opponents didn't want to stand with him. Put him in there with someone who won't grapple. I thought he looked pretty dang okay on the feet in this one. He looked just as quick as Chiesa.
@@jleonlove7965 But yes, denial is a helluva drug. You're winning or you're not. And he's not. Why is the UFC letting this happen? It's weird and sad at this point. Get him mental help.
@@jeffn2723bro idk what you are talking about, he looks like he is moving underwater when he is striking. Everybody has tuned him up on the feet recently.
He’s a 40yr lightweight, probably the toughest division in terms of athletics. The wild part is he’s up there talking like he’s fresh off the contender series.
I know he fought primarily at lightweight but this fight was Welterweight, I get your point though. The lighter weight classes are no place for an aging fighter especially a fighter who has taken the amount of damage that Tony has.
@@KizzyMMA tony will never admit it but justin i think broke tonys image of himself, and since he has been trying to redraw who he was in his own head, we all love him and he will forever be talked about in mma, but he should weigh up everything with his wife and make a final decision, i dont wanna see tony in 5 years on a podcast where he is dribbling and snorting his words out because he cant talk properly from cte damage, ah man its tough to see someone like tony fading because he was the beacon of violence in this promo :(
@@KizzyMMA Yeah he fought at welterweight, but that doesn’t necessarily make you a welterweight. When Tony And Michael faced off I knew Tony was doomed. Even he knew it, bro was small as hell and Cheisa is a phenomenal wrestler.
Please give the man a high paying job in the company as a personality. He’s very charismatic and knowledgeable and really want to see him apart of the company in some capacity. Tony time forever
Tony is the type of guy to stand straight up at the press conference after he turned around his chair, retired and didn’t retire AND: gets better every time. Tony😢 I love you but this is hard to watch. Submission was a blessing for him. Does he wait for the next chandler KO?😢 💔 ❤
The whole super hero thing is bizarre. Love the man’s spirit but I wish some of these guys would just step down when their time is up. Tony has become delusional.
@JackV-tw8bw they not paying him 6 figures to fight no names. He's on a 8 fight losing streak. It's time to retire or go to another promotion and fight cans. Edit they did him a fight keeping after the first 6 losses.
That's what the ufc is trying to do, Tony's got bad mental health issues, if he walks away on the longest loosing streak in ufc history he will end up killing himself or someone else, they should put Tony in with the worst 170 or 155 they have so he has a chance to get a win
@@Bairom06 He didn't give Diaz anything🤦♂️If anything Diaz let him live before finishing it. Dude got PTSD from the Gaethje fight. Everytime someone puts pressure him on the fence and throws in the pocket he turns he back and runs.Diaz is not a power puncher and he was running from him until he stopped running and a shot a bad tkd that ended the fight. He needs a sports psychologist.First time I have seen someone with ptsd in mma
Tony please get into broadcast brother. You’d be pretty entertaining and great on the mic. You can earn money other ways. You have officially reached the end of the road in the UFC.
Good idea! I don't know if that would do it for him though. He wants to be in the spotlight no matter what. And he has a lot of concern about the outcome. Like how many times did he say he threw up, before he had to fight?! Maybe if he wouldn't care, he would do much better?! Chiesa made a good point, stating he doesn't care about the outcome; he just cares about doing his best in the moment. Maybe he tried to make a hint, to Tony?!🤗
Bro this dude blew off his whole leg, got his face blown off against a fighter with WW power while being tortured for 5 rnds, almost had his arm ripped off, got killed by a front kick, revived himself again to have his leg almost torn off, had his neck almost torn off, his neck torn off again, killed himself in hell week for no reason, 3 rnd internal brain dmg by some high schooler, got submitted by a fucking NPC journeyman, and is old with no gold 😔
@@stx1uh he’s doing all this for what though now? He needs to find a new path, sad as it is. His body just isn’t what it was when he was younger, gotta admit that. Must be so rough

Tony....it's time to hang up the gloves bro. Accept it and be proud!! Your a legend in the sport, you have done all you can do. Unfortunately we grow older, and our sharpness is diminished. Everything you have accomplished, everyone you have inspired and everyone you will continue to inspire. @@mohdaizad2276he’s not delusional… Tony has a stronger mind then 90 percent of the global population and he will never give up he’s gotta dust off his gloves and get back in the cage by end of year and you will see a new man
You know a fighter is done when he refuses to acknowledge the most clear glaring fact: "I'm old and i keep losing". Retire legend please. We want you to live!
Man if you see the cerrone fight cowboy was catching him a lot like gaethje did and of course cowboy is over the hill so couldn’t get him out, so these holes in his game weren’t exploited for a long time, it was gonna come regardless.
Gonna mis Ferguson in the UFC, but for all real MMA fans, we know who he is, Legend! We appreciate you Tony, thanks for all the entertainment and inspiration 🙏
Yeah, just give him cans instead of other fighters that are also old and out of their primes. That really makes the UFC look great, huh? 😂 He’s lost seven straight and people are still giving the UFC problems over who they book him with? Bro, who else has lost seven straight and still getting on the press conference? They’re already doing him a massive favor. Lmao just stop
@@thebadaidstbh Tony is a can atp so stylistically Nick Diaz is the only fight that can be made where both guys won’t get finished and would be just a grappling fest
Tony should get a job at the UFC PI; just hire him to coach fighters and use his experience to teach them various things along with setting up programs for creative training. Tony deserves this.
Why setup something like that when you can milk him for every last thing he is worth and absolve yourself from any wrongdoing by saying, "I think he should retire, that's where my head's at"? Buutttttttt, I will use him to round out as many fight cards as I can because I know people wanting to see if he can somehow pull of one last win after all this is still quite a draw. It's Scumbag lvl 1million.
The only thing that speaks for Tony is that he might just be too concerned with the outcome; he just isn't there in the cage. Like he speaks about having to throw up 5 or 6 times, before his fight. And talks about "getting comfortable in the cage"; like it's his first fight, or something...
I mean that's not what I heard. I heard him say he felt sick from the nerves in the back... that he had the best weight cut ever (easiest being at 170),and that his camp felt great... so not sure how you came to those conclusions lol
I feel for Tony! As long as he is willing and not getting seriously hurt, I hope he does fight again! I will always pay to see a Tony fight. Cowboy did it for years and no one pressured him to retire. Tony is just in a slump and anyone that plays sports know how a string of losses can effect your confidence and game. I thought Chiesa was a bad matchup for Tony this time, he needs a banger win for a confidence boost.
During the golden era of lightweight, the MMA fan base was split into 3 camps, team Conor, team Khabib, and team Tony, and I was team Tony from the beginning, and it was a crime that he never got a title shot, but he needs to hang it up. Chiesa was the one and only guy I thought Tony might beat since Chiesa can't seem to stay out of d'arce chokes to save his life, but he just got submitted by him in the first round, that is really not a good look...
The only thing that speaks for Tony is that he might just be too concerned with the outcome; he just isn't there in the cage. Like he speaks about having to throw up 5 or 6 times, before his fight. And talks about "getting comfortable in the cage"; like it's his first fight, or something...🤗
It’s just sad. Who wants to watch that? I’ve never been a fan but I’ve been rooting for him 4 fights in a row and it’s just hopeless. What is the end game?
What's even sadder is Dana letting it happen because people will watch to see if somehow he can just pull out one last win, milking him and his health for every last cent. I actually think Dana isn't as crappy a person as he easily could be, which many people would disagree with, but he sure is taking the scumbag route on this one. And thinks he absolves himself of any wrongdoing by saying "I think he should retire." No, you don't, you don't care.
I like this more realistic version of Tony. A lot more humble and real with himself in this press conference. It sounds like he’s realizing his time is up and is accepting it.
Tony was phenomenon fighter. 12 fight win streak . HE is officially 40 atm and nowhere what he was. Great man , father time is undeafted. Tony you were great at your best. At your best you were top drawer . Time to move on warrior
I’m nervous for Tony ! Every time he gets in that cage !! He gets slower a slower !!! Scary !!!! But I still love him he will have at least one of his fights in the Hall of Fame and that’s an accomplishment !!!!
Dude, he’s looked like that for years now. It’s damn near criminal to let him continue fighting. He is clearly mentally impaired, and his decisions are not to be trusted or backed up. The people around are letting him down big time, they should be ashamed taking a dime, and helping him prepare for pro fighting. He has got clear substance issues, and he seems high in this post fight presser, that’s why he “happy” and jovial. Jeez, he can’t even take a seat. Sad.
This is called competitors mind fuck. Once you’re elite at something you set the bar at that level. Even higher in most cases. Now that he’s not, he won’t stop until he proves a point to himself. This particular game is brutal. But, this mindset is found in all avenues of competition. Hard to watch most of the time. We love you Tony.
Im genuinely bummed Tony missed his prime by tripping over audio cables. Hope he decides to do something more reasonable like opening up his own gym, rather than the whole influencer boxing thing.
