I have been subscribed for years! Just wanted to say the dedication you put into your videos, especially the beauty of reuniting memories of photos back to their owners touches my heart. Keep it up! Hope you and Charlie are doing well!
Dan…you put so so so much time and so much love into your videos. I’ve been watching your channel for over 6 years and can hand on heart say that you’re my favourite youtuber and canadian hehe!! Watching your videos is weirdly nostalgic to me, they’re so wholesome and genuine. And that’s because of you Dan. Your personality is all over your youtube channel and in every single video, you make every one feel like you’re literally a friend of mine on a video call. Youre such an amazing guy!! I hope to meet you one day in Canada!! It’s such a beautiful country :) I still to this day have no idea why you aren’t some uber famous guy, even looking at the views that shot and forgot is getting makes me a little sad. These episodes are more entertaining than 90% of TV programs let alone youtube videos. I remember thinking when I first found your channel “this dude is gona be so famous, I was here before…etc…” but hey- i’m grateful in a way, cause it means that your videos keep the same personal vibe to them, they feel so well created, and i think that’s something really large youtubers tend to loose the more popular they get. You’re killing it dan!! Love and respect from the UK 👊🏻
Want to add some insights on this supercool quest from a photographers’ perspective. I’m convinced this downhill run happened in two takes. I found the full series of the Life Mag photos on imgur. The first five photos are take 1. Please note the skater with a striped sweater going uphill again, the standalone boy on the left, and the groups of people on the right. Photos 6 to 8 are the second take, probably just a couple of minutes later. The person with the striped sweater is nowhere to be seen, standalone boy is not there anymore, and the group on the right has changed a bit. I’m very sure Bill Eppridge talked to our mystery man and told him to either wait a bit, or perform a second run, to get the final clean and iconic photo.
Danocracy is the best. I don’t watch him a ton but I am always amazed everytime I come back to watch a vid. He often doesn’t show up on my feed. Which is why I don’t watch his stuff often, but again always amazed with his amazing content.
They've recently found Paul McCartney's missing bass guitar, after it was stolen in the 1960s. So I'm very positive the mystery man skateboarding will surface as well. Someone always knows. Love such stories - looking forward to some updates.
