It’s honestly surprising how many of these games are actually worse than Pro Skater 5

More like Tony Hawk's Motion Sickness. But really, motion control is a novel idea, but there are times where games will have motion controls just because, it feels forced, and there could even be some games that weren't designed with motion control in mind, leading to motion sickness, it's just a mess.

Never thought I'd see a damn painting game within a Tony Hawk game...

I think Hue Pixel Painter was a terrible addition to the game. Like, no one bought Tony Hawk Motion because of that, and even then, I don't think there's many people who like extreme sports games, who also like kid friendly puzzle games. They should've just made Hue it's own thing.

The "varial flip" in this game is actually the animation for a Tre flip. Besides all the main things you listed there are a lot of little skateboarding inaccuracies I remember from this game.

For the sake of other DS things like a Rumble Pack here is a video on some others ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gRG7NXd4CAE.html (motion controls obviously have been around since the Power Glove obviously for most people, but for handhelds (to my knowledge) the GBC era had Kirby's Tilt and Tumble and a few others so it's not unheard of for Motion Controls in Handheld game cartridges but it is still rare cases). But in terms of using 'the THM Rumble pack' with other games, even if for other TH games I assume it is it's own thing.

Worst part is that this game claims to be running on Vicarious Visions' alchemy engine, meaning this game was *somehow* built off of Sk8land/Proving Ground DS. Ouch

This is one of the most disorienting games I've ever seen. I've got nothing against motion controls, but it's because of games like this that they get such a bad rep.

i love how they have a logo for Volcom on the menu screen, but they didn't bother to get any songs from that label, or and label for that matter, what an absolute disgrace of a game.

I'm glad I didn't accidentally buy this game yesterday at my local retro game shop. It was either this or Downhill Jam. I bought the latter and I like it. The price difference made it really obvious which one was better, even though I'm sure the guy at the counter probably would have at least told me it wouldn't work on my New 2DS XL anyway. And I just gotta say that your obvious frustration sounds 1,000 times funnier and more relatable in your British accent, even though I'm from New Jersey. Lololololololololol.... I have a theory about hue being on the cartridge: i bet the team was originally working on hue and got put on to develop the tony hawk game last minute. Hue was 80% finished so they put it on the tony hawk game to make up for the crunch time they would have to do to finish the game by shipping date. That, or they wanted to capitalize on de blob's popularity and had to do it in a hurry.

At least the tony hawk motion cartridge had the actual full game on it

This was actually my first tony hawk game. The DS was the first console i got, and i was into skateboarding so my grandma got me this. Had alot of fun on it, as a kid.

I think it's crazy that the 3 worst games of my 3 favorite game series' all released on DS and I've never heard of any of them until sometime later through RU-vid and video game Wikis (those other games being Spyro: Shadow Legacy and Crash Boom Bang).

I don't see the addition of an extra game to be anything negative. And no matter how bad a game could be, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is the absolute worst simply for trying to attach itself to the legendary Pro Skater series as a true "sequel".

I had this game when I was a kid. One of my friend’s older brothers had a skateboard game for his ds (can’t remember the name of it and I loved it. My parents bought me this game and I loved it at the time. Playing it now makes me wonder why I loved it so much

the tony hawk review within this review was great but the second section with the puzzle game not even YOU could save. I think that is representative, indicative of the fun factor of this whole cartridge

I played this game, and it was the last time I played it. It was horrific, uncontrollable, no music, and expensive when I bought it. Nothing about this game made sense.

i would love to see a video about Skate It on the ds from you. Its very junky because of the technical limitations but a great game for what it is. In some parallel universe we got a sequel to that on the 3ds which could have been the best portable skateboarding game. A shame that never happend. Great video as always btw.

I'm surprised Tony Hawk wasn't contacted to make a skateboarding game for on the Xbox 360 Kinect in 2011. I bet it would have been called Tony Hawk's Grind and it would have gotten less positive reviews than Ride and Shred for ditching the motion controls and forcing you to use the Kinect that doesn't track movement very well.
