I tried to like that guy but he just seems like a spoiled rich kid that takes everything personal. As much as I despise Vince he at least knew when to put his boss hat on. He even got in the ring and took more than a few bumps. But Tony just seems like a sheltered wimp.

It's a no-win scenario to release it. At best, if it shows Punk is a liar and/or Punk getting bested then Tony looks stupid/weak for saying that he "feared for his life." If it shows Punk is telling the truth that's even worse for Tony to release it.
This makes Tony look bad but his reputation has already been tarnished by being very petty. With the way they handled the Punk and Jack Perry situation and how they made Punk seem like a monster for the world to see (not much folks really), you'd think they'd want to stay away from Punk but no, he got offended by his words and will go that far. I do want to see this footage, though.

The product has gotten quite boring and stale at AEW anyways, only acts worth watching are Christian Cage, MJF (who’s taking time off), Edge, and maybe Swerve or Danielson. Jericho should have go away heat at this point.

This is the equivalent of Bischoff challening Vince McMahon to a match at Slamboree to pop some buy rates since WWF was killing them in the ratings. Reeks of desperation like overspending for average free agents that had no market. It would've been better if they did this around the time it happened, but it's too late, not many people care. It's kind of like how Tony messed up by not having The Elite face Punk and FTR, that would've been perfect once Punk returned, but they're too busy signing people.
You notice WWE and Drew Mccytnire is using what happened to push a storyline more than AEW. That’s a shame. WWE and Drew can’t wait til this footage drops
I watched it last night and it was the actual security footage with no sound. What Punk said in the interview, the events that were showed, matched what Punk said. Punk grabbed Perry, gave him a headlock, Samoa Joe broke it up, it happened very fast. In the end, it was a stupid idea. Both Perry and Punk aren't in AEW at the moment and The Bucks, The EVPs with the go away heat are the ones that presented it. They're obviously on the side of Perry and then they tried to mingle this incident into their feud with FTR. It would make for a good 6 man tag, Perry and the Bucks vs Punk and FTR but it's never going to happen. It's old news now. They missed out on The Brawl Out drama too.
So let me get the straight all this time Tony had footage and he waited until now to show it. If Tony was that scared for his life he should have soon it months ago. This is petty and it's going to backfire. Even if people hate CM Punk their opinion about him won’t change after this is shown.

When I heard this announcement I immediately went “Oh no, this is going to be his “That will put butts in seats moment.” The moment where his promotion never really recovers its reputation. Once it was announced, they can’t take it back. If Tony caved under pressure, it’ll only prove that he can’t make an executive decision and stand by it. The thing is, dude just spent a literal fortune bringing in some new high profile talent that he really should be using his time and resources to promote and get over.

Everything else on that show tomorrow has to be PERFECT for this stunt to work. They have to find some way to bring TRUE emotion out of this Dustin Joe match which will be difficult as it already feels manufactured and everything else must be compelling AF or the stunt will fall on its face. And next week has to be 10xs better than this week to start really growing. I leave an opening for optimism but it isn't a wide one

I've never heard of an owner burying a talent by showing a guy who doesn't currently wrestle for them beating him up. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Why would you want to show someone who you clearly think is a "cornerstone" wrestler of your company getting destroyed? He's not Mikey Whipwreck.
The funniest (saddest?) part of this whole thing to me is that TK is living out Drew MacIntyre's storyline IRL. WWE is very effectively telling a tragic story about jealously and obsession. Drew finally won the title at WM40, got everything he wanted, but he wasn't content to be a champion on his own. He had to be 'better' than Punk... which cost him everything in the end. Maybe TK really doesn't understand Pro Wrestling storytelling, because that's a tale so common it's cliche, but he can't help ironically living out the exact same thing himself. (also, comparing TK to Drew MacIntyre is probably the most generous comparison I've ever made in my life🤣)
At the most basic level he's choosing to spend quality TV time on a guy who's been off air for almost a year and the other company's guy. I'm astonished at how stupid this is.

It's just funny seeing AEW, who has bashed WWE every chance they get for 5 years turn around and play the victims when they get a taste of their own medicine. AEW are coming across as Oversensative Hypocrites who can dish it out on WWE but can't take it when they get it.

It's still amazing to (not surprised) that Tony Kahn didn't release Perry after basically dog cussing four of his superiors. Any over job wouldn't tolerate that, and we know Jaguar players have done less to get traded or released.
I Truly want AEW to be successful so there are more Options and places for Pro Wrestlers to work and make a good living, But shit like this is pathetic and Tony is the main problem. Tony is so invested that his favorite toy ever didn't want to play his reindeer games and is STILL not over it. AEW was a once in a generation opportunity to create an intriguing alternative to WWE, and they dropped the ball and actions like this are making sure they never recover again.

They are setting up the ultimate Forbidden Door PPV with an AEW, New Japan and WWE crossover so we can expect CM Punk Vs Jack Perry to be one of, if not the main attraction on that show....... Oh no wait, that's not gonna happen is it and you're absolutely right, it's REALLY dumb. This whole point about "Well WWE always takes shots at AEW" that I hear constantly, whilst true on occasions, it isn't part of what they are advertising as one of their main attractions for their show. At best you'll sometimes hear a usually vague reference to AEW as part of a promo or skit and segment and that's about it, about a 10 second mention and that's about it. They don't say "Tune in next Monday on RAW and see how we expose AEW!" and spend a whole segment on it because they don't care all that much about AEW, because they know most of their audience won't and they'd rather focus on selling their own product which is completely understandable. If Tony or The Young Bucks felt the need to respond, do it in a tweet or at best have Tony mention it very briefly in a backstage promo and then get on with the show. The way they did it here makes them look so petty and amateur it's unbelievable and yet still it gets defended as if they set the record straight when to me, all it did was prove Punk's versions of events right in the recent interview and it was mostly at least if not entirely how he described the events. The whole thing made AEW look amateur and poor.

Personally, I want to see this. And I honestly think Khan and the EVPs are doing this in part, to take CM Punk down a notch and prove to the world he was the a-hole in the situation.

Image the consequences long term if he had gotten charged with assault in a foreign country… He wouldn’t be let back into the UK for a long time if ever, had that occurred… The man obvious has self control issues and lacks the ability to rationally think before he acts, which is odd because he seems so contrived and calculated….

Wish it showed punk choking jack and then wwe brought it up on their show by having drew say "what you gonna do next punk choke me?" And then they do a backstage segment of punk choking drew. Would be awesome if punk character in wwe got brutal after lol
