They're trying to Sabatoge the HBCU's so the top programs don't lose current and future recruits or have to compete in the future when the talent starts to level out. Planting this seed and taking him now prevents momentum and keeps the status quo.

His point had nothing to do with race and his point was 100% valid. Also lets not get lost in the B.S. when it comes to NCAA football and men`s basketball every major school is a HBCU... Look at the rosters. He`d be coaching the same kids as he`s coaching now. How much money is that Jackson State team generating for the school? While the city is generating more revenue off the program, the boom in profile that Dion brought has the actual program just breaking even at right under 3 million in revenue last season and right under 3 million in expenses. Dion being the greatest show on earth at JSU is not translating into the revenue needed to improve the experience for the other athletic programs or student body.

ESPN and other sport mainstream media is really trying to create this narrative that Coach Prime is going leave JSU for a P5 (more specifically the SEC) this year. If anyone has paid attention to the interviews that Coach Prime has done the last 2 years, you would see that he wants to a create unique legacy all his own as a coach, while uplifting JSU and HBCUs as a whole. He wants to lead this charge and be the change agent for HBCUs needs. I seriously don't believe that Coach Prime will forgo the current opportunity/challenge of this magnitude in giving HBCU football the exposure it desperately needs for more money. This man isnt like these coaches that like to cut and run on a program for more money somewhere else, it truly about the mission with Coach Prime.

Before coming to JSU, Deion spent 3 years as the offensive coordinator (not the head coach) of a private Christian school in Cedar Hill, Texas because that's where his two sons were playing. Every year Trinity Christian School won the state championship in their division under his coaching. His kids chose Jackson State and Deion ends up as head coach. You can bank on this - Deion will NOT leave JSU until his sons finish their college career. His number one dedication is to his sons and their careers. After his sons are gone you MIGHT see him move elsewhere but not until then. I would also bet that if he gets a chance to coach a pro team that has Shedeur as their QB he will take it.

This is tough, because on 1 hand, Deion is on a fast track to make Jackson State the Alabama of HBCU's/1-AA for as long as he stays there, which could be another 15 years at least!! The exposure and money he's generating for Jackson State, the SWAC and HBCU's is enormous, he's really elevating and helping the race!! The ONLY negative is, at Jackson State he's not going to be able to regularly sign the 5-star recruits that he would be able to if he coached at big-time White/PWI school like Auburn or Georgia Tech. I think that may start to bother him at some point regardless of how much success he has at Jackson State. I'm assuming a guy like Deion who played in the NFL and MLB at the exact same time(on the exact same day a few times) will want the opportunity to recruit and sign the best of the best players(like he was) and that probably won't happen at Jackson State. He did get highly rated 5-star recruit Travis Hunter to sign with Jackson State over the BCS schools, but how often can he do that? The overwhelming majority of the 4 and 5 star players are going to sign with the BCS conferences like the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC etc. because of the facilities and TV exposure, and being programmed to believe that HBCU's are not up to par.

The SEC would chew primetime up and spit him out. Would be an awful hire for AU that would set them back even further.

Expectations are too high at Auburn. Colorado gives him the opportunity to fail a little.

This is so messed up because if deion Sanders wanted a top tier college job he could have got it from the jump, he's coaching for what he believes in his heart and you know that

He's waiting on the fsu coaching position to open up he's a competitor that would be the best spot for Prime not JSu ....

I believe sooner or later he'll leave. Not about money. But competition. Coach Sanders always been ABOUT THAT ACTION. He got way more juice than coach Saban at bama and coach smart at Georgia. Put him at a power 5 school and a dynasty will be born

To me I don't see Deion going to Auburn. He doesn't need to go to Auburn. I can see Deion going to Florida State if that job opens up.
