Former D.C. drug kingpin Tony Lewis Sr. sat down for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off speaking to Vlad about growing up in D.C. in the 1970s. He explained that he had a hard upbringing, and Tony spoke about how he ended up in the streets at 14 because he saw his mother struggling to make ends meet. From there, Tony detailed his early operations as a teen and how he switched things up by getting a house and a crew. Tony also spoke about an incident that led to him getting involved in a federal investigation with someone who cooperated and told everything. Tony then spoke about his case, including spending $200,000 on a lawyer, which he said was a “waste” because they were trying to make an example out of him and his co-defendants. During the conversation, Tony spoke about his experiences in prison and how his son kept him going while he was starting his own non-profit organization to give back to his community. To hear more, including Tony speaking about his release from prison, hit the full interview above.

I’ve been waiting to see an interview from Tony Lewis, Sr since he was released. I moved to the DMV in 1987 from Texas. I was 7 years old at that time and 9 years old when he and Rayful were arrested. I was too young to pay any attention to their trial but I do remember it being on the news. By the time I was in my early 20’s, I was more familiar about their case and what they were arrested for. I actually met Tony Jr when I was at a function and he was advocating his fathers release then. I’m glad to see that his work payed off and to see him and his father together again is amazing. They are currently in the city still raising awareness on incarceration even after his fathers release.

Wtf is wrong with yall community? This guy DESTROYED thousands n thousands of children’s lives n their families by getting sooooo many people heavily addicted to hardcore drugs. Y’all always yap about some evil white dude that shot 1 person yet you’ll have a black dude who killed or had countless young black dudes killed plus all the children’s lives who were ruined n all the black women who’s lives were destroyed n ended up selling their bodies n even worse n you will praise them n wish they have a great successful life. It is INSANE !!! It’s be like white people wishing the leader of the aryan brotherhood or Dahmer to end up having some great successful life. It would never ever happen.

Not trying to justify what Tony Lewis Sr. or what others like him were involved in but people don't see or know how this racist government flooded black communities with cocaine in the 80's all to incarcerate blacks. The Reagan administration cut after school programs that sheppered kids to sports programs that were a positive, when I came up in that time every elementary school had a little league team and most youths participated but the Reagan administration cut funds to continue those programs and at the same time they conspired with the CIA and Col Oliver North flooded inner cities with cocaine in order to generate funds to arm the Contras who were a Rebel group fighting the Communist Government of Nicaragua, the American Government sacrificed black communities in order to get money to arm the Contras because the American Congress voted against funding a war that might lead to another Vietnam so the Reagan administration needed to find away to finance their secret war and they chose to sacrifice communities of color. Do your own research, the Sandanistas to over Nicaragua in 1979,and at the time cocaine wasn't in the black communities, we had heroin and weed but those drugs didn't take a toll on entire blocks in the black community but when Reagan who was as racist as they came became president he chose to take funds from programs that brung positive cohesion in our communities and then covertly with the CIA 's manpower flooded our streets with cocaine and a good example of the ramifications of their conspiracy is Mr.Lewis as people are more then likely a product of their environment. If a kid grows up in a fishing village more then likely he'll become a fisherman, if a kid grows up on a ranch he'll more then likely become a cowboy but I ask the question why didn't the American Government flood rural and suburbia America with cocaine because if the American dreams idea was what the Reagan administration was trying to keep alive then those who were experiencing it should have been the one's who paid for it, not black communities. We didn't own planes or boats to transport that SHIT from Colombia but it made its way to our communities. As far as I'm concerned Mr.Lewis has paid his debt to society but I commend him for where his heart is at and I wish he and his family the best

Wow this guy was only out 18 days here. He seems like a relaxed grandfather who is kind and grateful to be out. I know he sold drugs but nobody deserves life in prison for drug sales nobody forced anyone to buy them drugs. If we ended the drug war and had safe regulated drugs adults could use at supervised clinics or at home it wouldn’t be dangerous it’s into dangerous and only creates crime because it’s illegal we need to regulate the drug market so people can have safe drugs and to put an end to criminality of it then prisons would be 95% empty and the government would need to find something new to lock people up to profit billions for

That’s a good point. This is minor but the same, he made a comment about “not your typical D.C. block” talking about how Hanover was a one way. D.C. has more one ways than any other city. There was whole projects that was full of all one ways with a crew named after them called the OW Boys. Again, minor but still he just says shit to say it.

I patrolled Anacostia for 17 yrs on Mids. Started in 81 and saw the change from OGs playing craps and selling Cooley Bags..$5 to young crews that dropped bodies and ran the Reg OGs off.Little Kids got recruited to avoid adult charges. Barry Farms became a target range that sold drugs. Most of SE was the same. Projects, no dads. Saying that, as a white kid learning to urban police, I dont blame those youngins for anything except the bodies. The lives of these kids was just poverty on poverty. Then a way to get rich fast was right there. I dont blame them at all. I always feel bad for the Grandmas and such on my beat. I doubt the next guy gave them special attention. I cleared those spots in front. No hanging in front of old folks places. My special peave. Lol. And bodies piling up.

Also a word about roaches and rats. I wish people would stop associating these pests with poverty they are not associated with poverty. They are associated with uncleanness which is a manifestation of lack of discipline which is not the same as poverty. I know many poor people who are clean and they never have a roach or rat problem. Rats go where they are invited or allowed just like drug dealers

I remember the his OG Cornell Jones who said he grew up in that rats and roaches environment. Desperation will make you make those choices. Once you get addicted to the money. It’s hard to step away. A lot of working class people just did coke to party. That’s why most of the money was made on the weekend.

You can tell he's ole school. He is rocking Sergio Tacchini sweat jacket, which was name brand sweat suits back in the late 80's and early 90's! I remember my cousin gave me one of his sergio Tacchini sweat suits, and I got robbed on a bus for my jacket! I was like 13 years old, and this grown ass man stuck me up with a 38 caliber gun!

Stand up man. It’s so sad he lost so much of his life due to nearsightedness in his youth, though it’s refreshing to see how remorseful he is for poisoning the community at this point. It’s funny because the government allowed the drugs to be brought into these communities, allowed the top players to flourish economically, and then punished those who succeeded at their own game… Shout out to you Tony Lewis Sr., love from the DM(V) 🫡🤎
