Can't get enough of Tony Monaco's blues/jazz B3 stylings and tributes to Jimmy Smith, and many of the other B3 Pioneers. What a great inspiration Tony is to all Hammond Organ fans at home and abroad.
Became a believer when he came down to St Pete to do the kick off party for the blues fest that featured him and local B3 wiz Shawn Brown together complete with question and answer session with audience about Killer B3 the movie and all things Hammond.
This is a great video! But, please, cut the "exclusive" nonsense. This video was on RU-vid long before this posting. I say this as a broadcaster who sees the moronic overuse of such terms on a daily basis!
...the Stank Face is strong in this one... thought OB3-Kenobi, as young Tony laid down a killer solo, spontaneously impregnating all fertile females within a 3 parsec distance of the Cantina...
He probably makes the facial expressions without thinking. Whenever I play keyboard my friends always make fun of me because I make hella weird facial expressions.
Sure, because as a musician you should pull yourself out of your emotive flow to control the natural peripheral expressions your musical soul is reflecting in your body so your audience can look at a flat, soulless expression on your face…. That wouldn’t negatively affect the music at all…. As a cellist I once knew said: “gotta let the face free when the cello sings”.
Too slow , and too grimaces . I will learn you a day , a move that Will stand Up ! everybody in front of You can be hurt . A good move in music is the Secret . Y'a know ! Like a snake bite . Just Take It !!! ...
I'll be honest and say that (only) the first half is not up to Monaco's usual standards, and yes, the grimacing is over the top for what's being played , but there are many, many other videos where Tony burns the hell out of the instrument, start to finish. Now please, haters- what's up with all this crap about having to prove your own chops before being allowed to express an opinion? We're here to exchange ideas, not post a resume before posting. Chill, man.
Boring. Dude plays the same thing every time he plays. Looks like somebody's uncle playing in dive bars who never made it. Don't know how his videos regretfully made it in my feed but I won't be watching him again.
