Giving women and minorities the right to vote was the greatest thing to ever happen in this world. No government willingly gives up it's power to rule over people. The people have to force governments to do the right thing otherwise we all wind up being peasants or worse; slaves! A government that rules without the consent of it's people, is not a government, but tyranny, plain and simple.
