Anniversary is such a quintessential masterpiece. I realized recently that the song begins the day before the anniversary, then it speaks of the plans for the day, then there is a musical interlude, then the day comes and the celebration begins. The instruments take us on a journey. The extended version is even better than the short radio version.
Absolutely legendary, I can vividly remember 1st hearing " little Walter," "It Feels Good" and all the other hits and I was only between 8 - 10 years old at the time when they first came out. And the hits continued, from elementary school to high school and college. I would definitely be at the Memphis or the Nashville show. Hands down, one of my favorite groups of all time.
Just saw their live show a few weeks ago.. AMAZING!! Everyone could barely contain themselves in their seats.. 2.5hrs of pure bliss. Every song, every note and the energy was amazing, esp seeing a whole new generation in the crowd to witness one of the BEST R&B Acts.. BRAVO, BRAVO, !! So glad you're back on tour and the beautiful energy you put into every song!
Great interview!! Thank you for asking about how they came up with the name! 😀 I just saw them Sept. 30th and omg they were Phenomenal!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I definitely want to see them again!! I was so excited they were back together and touring!! Love their songs! 🏆 One of my favorite groups!! 🤩
I love "i care" also Tim. That is a beautiful song. She didnt even ask Raphael favorite song. Im so happy they all back together i cant wait for Jacksonville show.
So many people in their feelings on here. I honestly don’t care about the band drama. I’ve always been about the music. I don’t even know the names of the others who were replaced. I’ve been in bands my whole life and the others have gone on to have wonderful careers. So what? Life goes on. It always comes back to the music
If you knew what happened between them all you wouldn’t be so flippant about the situation. Millions of dollars. They did this to their own blood family. But yes life does go on and the original band is doing their own thing now.
@@joybostic5084 all of that is explained in detail in the documentary “Loyalty No Royalty” that was released in 2019 (?). This includes interviews with the record execs. However the documentary is no longer available. There is a legal case right now.
This was great to see, now all we need is En Vogue to get back together, all 5 members( including Rhonda) and these great groups are coming back. Because they I think see R&B needs that extra spark. NE now TTT let's keep it going.
WOW! Tony! Toni! Toné! What a pleasant surprise. I grew up on this band. I remember watching the video for _Feels Good_ and my mom tellin' me to scoot back from the tv. I've been a fan ever since. _Whatever You Want..._ Don't get me started on that gem. I'll be here all night picking it apart. I'll just say that I get an inexpressible feeling inside whenever I hear it. And then you have 1993's _Anniversary_ which is just a sweet burst of nostalgia. So many warm memories done flooded my memory bank right nah. Told y'all about that 1993 nah. WHEW! What a year.
Their debut album (who?) never gets its flowers - Little Walter (their 1st hit) and Born Not To Know are still a vibe. Anniversary is my least favorite song from them only because it was played to death.
I totally enjoyed seeing Tony Toni Tone in New Orleans. It was so great to hear live music and to see these talented musicians vibing. It was a great experience! Thank you for the gift of music and for taking us down memory lane. I truly hope they felt the love. Get your ticket, you definitely won't be disappointed.
I love them, the concert was Epic at the Chicago theater even though we couldn't record cause they made us lock our phones, but definitely memorable 😁❤
@@TheBbtlegit No doubt! I love hearing Jubu 🎸!! Carl wheeler and all, but this happens in all bands. Some members can be replaced some can’t. 🤷🏾♂️They were touring without Raphael and guess what… just wasn’t the same. Any how, all their albums had 3 people on the cover. I just love the music. Jubu and them doing their thing with Maze and I love it!
The real band was in some of videos and played live. These three along with management suppressed the other members. Check out the original Oakland bands video.
All seriousness if you are under 30 years old. I want you to be put on notice that these are some of the baddest brothers to ever do music. The 4th member is Jubu Smith! He is the guitarist that you hear on most of those hit records!
The original TTT was 6 members not just 3. They dogged the other members out & kicked them to the curb. Even though the other members helped write the hit songs. The 3 touring now took all the money & acted like they weren't on the original recordings.
BiggTae I share the same sentiments!!! That was some bullshit they put down and it seems as though they would take this time to make things right !!!! Really disappointed in these cats they were my fav group back during this time and I had a band at that time and to think my fellow band mates(and they were also family in TTT)would stab me like that wow that’s just the unthinkable….. these guys are rats I would rather see 3tob and hear the real tone toni Tony sound !!!! 😡
Just saw them in Nashville. The crowd erupted when the intro to Anniversary started. I could literally feel the vibration of the music and crowd singing. It was AMAZING!!!
Tony Toni Tone was in town. Before you mentioned it, yes , I know Raphael is not with the group. I saw them perform without him. Chicago is not the town to sell tickets and perform poorly!🤔
MANNNNN! just saw these guys in Atlanta and they were on my music bucket list ✔️ I wanted them to sing STILL A MAN & WILD CHILD and a few others, but i was appreciative with what they gave us. I AM A DAY 1 FAN! LOVE THESE GUYS! 💪🏾💯🎵🎙
As a long TTT fan! Cant suppport this new tour knowing how they dogged out the original band. Who played a key role in the music & writing of the hits @ there height! To do a reunion without them is not cool!
