I've been an underground Hip Hop fan for decades, but I'm only recently come to really appreciate Too Short. He just don't stop rappin'. No other MC has such long and tight flow. Barely any chorus. And also spoken so clearly and simply. Just ridiculous good. Not yet the GOAT in my opinion, but I do now think that your estimation of him be definitely worthy of respect.
Also., it HITS!! I used to put this song on my parents home stereo (which was a surprisingly powerful system from the late 70’s, a Sansui receiver with 120 watts RMS per channel, connected to Bic Ventura speakers, which were 12” subs) I was like 13 when this came out. I’d put on this tape, and it would be so loud that the whole house and the neighbors house would shake. The bass drops about 10 seconds in…. And it’s just amazing. The beat is ridiculous (pretty sure Ant Banks produced it) and $horts raps are clear, legendary (8 woofers in the trunk beatin’ down the block… I mean come on, that is just historical if you ask me) and most of all he straight up reps the bay and is real as fuck. This in in my top 10 songs of all time in any genre (and I listen to many different types of music) 10/10

That slouch walk!!! My dudes older brother promoted shows here in Ohio. We passed out fliers and I got to meet him way back in 87 doing a sound check. I bust a couple raps. 14 years old. Then after the show him and as boys come into our local grocery store, we was buying pops and snacks, he remembers me and hollers out "aye little Toledo, where the the liquor section?" I showed him right where and he signed a 1 dollar bill for me.

Bubba pacha All 💯 true!!! However, back in the day, we though it was the best thing ever. We absolutely had it all, didn't we??? Now looking back we can see that it didn't even compare to today's technology. And the funny thing is that in another 25-30 years, if we are lucky enough to live that long, we will look back on 2021 and be talking about just how good we though we had it... again!!! Different eras and old trends really are a funny thing!!!
