The pelican is voiced by Geoffrey Rush. You might remember him from Pirates of the Caribbean, he played Captain Hector Barbossa, the leader of the cursed pirates.
@@StoryMing Did yall ever notice that as soon as the barracuda shown up, the sea got kind of dark along with the music. This shows how much of a killer the barracuda is more than the sharks, and by the way the barracuda is my favorite character even if he does not have any lines.
That is a huge deal- a lot of people never even leave the state they are in. I am so glad that you get to see how TRULY amazing and versatile the United States is. Congratulations on 50 under 50- truly.
A reference from another film in Finding Nemo is the name of the shark that is Bruce and this is the name that director Steven Spielberg gave to his mechanical shark in the film Jaw which was in honor of his lawyer.

Finding Dory is a rare sequel win! Its just as good as finding nemo! Also when this was released they had just gotten this type of water animation down for the first time and it showcased it sooo well!
Trivia for Finding Nemo, for James and anyone else interested in knowing: - Released in 2003; directed by Andrew Stanton; written by Andrew Stanton, Bob Peterson, and David Reynolds (Andrew Stanton is the same director who did WALL-E). - Finding Nemo grossed $871 million in box office, making it the second highest grossing film of the year. At the time of its release, it was the highest-grossing animated film of all time. - Nominated for 4 Oscars in 2003: Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Sound Editing. It won one award, Animated Feature Film. - William H. Macy (the vice-principal from Mr. Holland's Opus) was originally cast as Marlin, and recorded most of the dialogue, but was replaced by Albert Brooks during filming, because Andrew Stanton wanted a lighter touch. - Andrew Stanton himself did the voice of Crush the Turtle. He was going to have another actor re-record the lines, but test audiences responded so well to it that he kept it. - The film was dedicated to the memory of Pixar animator Glenn McQueen, who died of melanoma the year before. - As of 2015, Finding Nemo has sold the most DVDs of any film, with over 41 million copies. - Ellen DeGeneres loved playing Dory so much that she kept asking the production team to do a sequel. They did, in 2016, called "Finding Dory."
There are a lot of famous actors doing voice work here. The three sharks are played by Eric Bana, Bruce Spence, and Barry Humphries, aka Dame Edna. The aquarium crew are Stephen Root, Willem Defoe, Brad Garrett, Austin Pendleton, Vicki Lewis, and Allison Janney. The film’s director Andrew Stanton was Crush, and he recorded his lines while lying on a couch to keep the proper laid-back tone. Geoffrey Rush is Nigel, the pelican.
Her in Germany, when "Finding Nemo" was in the cinemas, the sales of fish sticks dropped significantly. Kids would not eat them, just chant " fish are friends, not food"
OMG I love Finding Nemo! I still remember watching it in theaters when i was a kid. i also remember going to school the next day and telling one of the schools janitors, who's name was Bruce that there was a Shark that had the same name. We both laugh lol ;3
This movie came out when I was in college for dental hygiene- if I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if I've seen Finding Nemo...(or...Marathon Man)...I'd have a lot of dollars! We were a bunch of dental nerds and they depicted endodontic treatment fairly accurately, which doesn't happen very often! If it hasn't been recommended before, I think a film you'd really enjoy would be Defending Your Life- it stars Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks (Marlin in Finding Nemo). It's hilarious and heartwarming and in that special category of film that makes you think about life, but doesn't beat you over the head with a message in a really heavy-handed way.
I love the dad and daughter octopodes. "You made me ink myself." I love when the daughter octopus holds up a tentacle, "You see this tentacle? It's shorter than the other ones, but you can't really tell." {Twirls about} "Especially, when you go like this." edit: The dvd's special features are pretty epic. Between the ocean facts and computer screen savers, my copy is wearing out.
I love the 2 Marx Brothers references with Dory name dropping Chico and Harpo. An old black and white comedy series similar to Three Stooges and Abbot and Costello. But the Marx brothers were 4 Brothers Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo
“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” Over the years Pixar keeps on releasing great movies for more than 20 years, and this is another Pixar movie that I still love to this day!!!! 21 YEARS AGO TODAY DISNEY PIXAR RELEASED WHAT WOULD BE THEIR 5th movie, FINDING NEMO!!!!!!!
Hi James, I really like your channel. Nemo became one of my fav's several years ago when I was babysitting my granddaughter. She was about 3 or 4 at the time and all she wanted to do was watch Finding Nemo over and over and over and over...🙄🤣 You get the picture. Anyway, I have seen it dozens of time and it is a really good story and soooo funny. I cannot think of a Pixar film that is not good.
I've come back to talk about an underwater sculpture garden in the Gulf of Mexico. It's called the Underwater Museum of Art and it's off the coast of Florida. It's on my bucket list.
The thing that ate all the eggs in the beginning is a barracuda. I saw one when I was scuba diving and was terrified. Found out after that we were safe because he was on his own. If there’d been a lot we would have been in trouble. From what I know, the reason the clown fish run against the anemone is because anemone is poisonous/sting and consistent contact make them immune. Last bit, the sea turtles that seem a bit elevated…sea turtles eat jellyfish and it was believed that they do it because it gives them a bit of a high. So they made them sound like stoned surfers lol
Hawaii is amazing, my niece lives there. She trains military dogs. Be prepared it is VERY expensive for everything. If your going to Pearl Harbor, they charge crazy prizes. I've been there 2x & it really is worth going & experiencing all that Hawaii has to offer. Safe travels🙏❤️
*_You should watch more Pixar movies: They don’t make bad movies! Definitely don’t miss: Up (2009), a Bugs Life (1998), Monsters Inc. (2001), Wall-E (2008), Inside Out (2015), Turning Red (2022) and all of the Toy Story movies!_*
Not so fun fact: many kids got the idea that they're holding their fish prisoner and flushed them like in this movie. Congrats on the upcoming 50 states. I would also like to make all 50. Still got like 10 to go
Fish can only stand certain amounts of pressure. So some fish can dive deep and some can’t. Similar to humans! Only example I can think of is the “blob fish”. It looks normal to us on land but under water it flattens out to adjust to the pressure.
From what I understand Blob fish basically internally explode from their internal pressure when they are brought to the surface which is why they look like they do in pictures.
Nemos mom dies before hes born, his father raises and is over protective . Nemo gets caught by scuba divers where he is brought to a dentist office fish tank where the dentist crazy ass daughter gets to pick what fish she wants and kills them by shaking them in the transferring bag. Nemos dadtravels across ocean with dumb fish called dory ,and they end up finding nemo after nemo escapes fish tank (via help with other fishes stuck in tank) and goes down a drain that leads straight to the bay in Australia. He isnthen found shortly after and all is well. all fishes meet many other fishes in thensea and land along the way. Sorry for spoiling the movie ❤
Only been to 46 states myself, and the highest point of elevation in 35 (including Hawkeye Point at 1,670 feet above sea level in Iowa, north of Sibley), so have some work to do to match your travel adventure accomplishment. Pre-congrats!
