I simplified my routine as well. Made things simple and easy. My best decision was adding grease back in. Good old og hair grease after a wash is perfection🤗

I understand certain hair types do well with grease. For me grease sits on my head like I might as well be using Vaseline. With fine strands I can use a light mix of castor on my ends with my special aryuvrdic blend. For strength pumpkin seed oil . Denim was only for defining my curls. Not careful it , it breaks my fine strands if the teeth were wider then I would use it always. My comb is a level three goody comb it comes in levels 1-4 re: teeth width for detaingling and the teeth are wavy instead of straight

As far as a “refresher “ goes, I too just use what ever concoction is currently in my spray bottle…water, oils, etc….😊

Decades ago I exercised several days a week, so I would wash my hair at least twice a week and cowash with a regular conditioner in between. Since going natural permanently in 2015 I went to RU-vid to learn how to wear my natural curls out and picked up some unnecessary tips, including buying refreshers. I eventually stopped and went back to old school days and used water. I use to watch your videos years ago when your daughter was much younger. It was overwhelming watching so many channels that I didn't subscribe to any until later in the future. Anyways, I recently started watching your videos again, which I still enjoy. Btw, congrats on your hair line! May God continue to bless you and your family! ❤

I just went back to using a leave in. I'm a wash and go girl so I had just been using mousse for like a couple years now. I used a leave in under my mousse and it came out AMAZING! Definitely sticking with a leave in ❤

Leave ins are the best! I just think you can save time and money by using a 2 N 1 conditioner (conditioner + a leave in)

I never really got into this, but I bought half a dozen and gave them a try for a few months about a year ago. That's hair gel. It's a no for me. If I want hold I'll use either a styling cream or a mousse, but no gel for me. I do like dedicated leave-in conditioners. I'll skip the rinse out ones before I'll skip the leave-in. But I can see just doing one or the other, or a product you can either rinse out or leave in like Elvive Power Restore I do find though that often the scent is too strong on a rinse out for me to tolerate it as a leave-in.

Omg, mine is using excessive oil/ product 😩 if the application of the products were done correctly, then less is really more. My hair and scalp can go so much longer without feeling oily or weighed down. I love your videos! 🫶🏾🩵

Thisbis intersting to me because i get to watch andnlearn how newbies to the natural hair and also newer generations are now learning how to take care of their strands on their own . Methods i have used for years. Ehen i was tipping my ears i did the whole leave in and mousee ( no alcohol ) Full of moisturizers Pantene was one brand. And because of my hair type i was accused of having a jerry curl amd it was crazy because as long as i was burning my hair the girls were okbwith it . When i went back to my curls they were mean to me . What is wrong with them i thought why are they treating me like this. They had relaxers and unyil they wrnt to the shop they were in ponytails , added hair , and plain styles, some types they were burning their hair as straight ad they could and then use a curling iron on the bottom . In the end their hair was stiff like straw and smelled burnt and was full of splits and damage

My issue is i shampoo too often. Shampoo is not the enemy we need it for a clean and healthy scalp but it can be an enemy to tighter curl patterns if you misuse it or use it too much not being aware how often you should be using it. Becayse i wasnt aware and i still am not.i just notice my hair is getting dryer and dryer i was shampooing a couple to few times a week. Its a habit i cant seem to make myself go as far as a week and i know some people go months with no bath or well i mean not washing their hair (same thing) so that is not something i could do as im in a relationship with my fiance and we get close and cuddle and my hair would smell like sweat and dirt etc and i think that may turn him off.lol to each its own but if i can go once a week or once every 1 and a half weeks i would have more length retention and oersonally i like cowashing because i suffer from very dry 3c long curly hair. Ever since i started my journey i started using cantu and it ruined my hair and im still recovering from it. I lost so much hair and length

Doing a hot oil treatment before shampooing will help not dry your hair out.

Cantu was awful for me too. I used it a few times and it dried my hair out so badly I never bought it again.
