Too HIGH on Final?! From Catalina to San Luis Obispo
In the last video, we had a fantastic trip to Catalina island and the seaside town Avalon. Today, we will take off from the island, head north and make a stop at San Luis Obispo. I heard they just opened a brand new FBO called ACI Jet and I can't wait to see it!
Since I flew high to clear the mountains surrounding the airport while the airport elevation was only 200 ft. I didn't plan enough time to descend, as I was still pretty high at 5 mile final. Here is what I did to mitigate the problem.
The new ACI Jet facility was opened less than one year ago, and is definitely the most stylish FBO I have ever visited. If you happen to be around, make sure to pay a visit and I am sure you will be impressed.
