This is a gorgeous cave in the northern Dominican Republic, one of the longest known in this part of the country. There are an estimated 100,000 bats inside, and one of the largest stalactites in the Caribbean.
Locals have known about the cave for maybe centuries, as they piped water out of both entrances. But no one ever ventured past the entrances until just a few years ago when the lower entrance's sump was dove, and then a couple of French cavers entered the upper entrance and mapped the main passages. It's still not fully explored.
