Arizona Game and Fish urgently needs your help! Take a look at this video and see why a desert tortoise could make a great addition to your family. Every year the Arizona Game and Fish Department adopts out hundreds of captive desert tortoises to Arizona residents that are surrendered to the department. These tortoises cannot be released back into the wild because they can transmit diseases that can decimate our wild population.
Tortoises are typically adopted out from March/early April through mid October, depending on the temperatures since they brumate during the cooler months. Start an application today and begin the process of finding a forever friend.
