Too old to play with dolls? Adults who roll play with reborn baby dolls & the "mentally ill" stigma 

I’m a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and I love creating my babies. It’s satisfying. Calming to just hold and rock them, I don’t see anything wrong with rollplay. If men can collect baseball or football memorabilia or collect cars or whatever then women should be able to collect dolls without being judged.

I'm 63 and my family, sister's and daughter think I'm crazy because I do roll play. With my doll or as I call them my babies. I love babies they do help me with anxiety. Thank you Tasha for addressing this. They are unhappy and I'm happy and that's sad

I have seen videos of young girls receiving a new doll & they r so excited that they often cry w joy. For some of us, we loved dolls as children, & it was sad to let them go as we matured. Enter reborns!!! These dolls r a whole other level of experience, w their realism & beauty. The love, the thrill, is reawakened! If u have it, u have it, & that's all there is to it. I'm grateful that as a 70 yr old woman, there is still something that brings me peace & pleasure & artistic inspiration. I can appreciate that some people react negatively, but that never comes between me & my enjoyment of these "beautiful things". 🥰

Hi there. I think the assumption with some people when they see someone role-playing with a reborn doll is that the person may be delusional and think the doll is their real baby. I think that assumption comes from ignorance about the reborn doll hobby. Many people with mental illness are involved with the reborn doll hobby but they don't believe their dolls are real babies. This is why creators who do roleplaying often put disclaimers stating they do not believe their doll is real, because they are tired of having to respond to ignorant comments about their mental health. The fact that mental illness is still stigmatized is largely because people lack education and understanding. Some people believe every adult who plays with dolls is mentally ill, and those people can have their opinions. But who cares what they think. 😂

Hey just came across your channel & I just got my #babygirl in April 9, 2023 & I came across the reborn channel & seeing her with a #siliconebabydoll so I purchase my first one for therapeutic reasons because we tried to adopt a girl at the age of 12 years old… I have a daughter & identical twin boys so I’m a mother n not a grandma yet n might not be & I’ve always wanted another baby so I got a hysterectomy in April 2022 & this has helped me with my ptsd, anxiety & panic attacks it’s soothes me but my doctor was making sure I didn’t need to go to a psychiatrist wow…. My kids n family think I’m weird but I feel like I don’t care I’m going to do what makes me happy! ❤❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing! I share my journey with my baby girl…

I very well know these babies aren't real but I don't care what anyone thinks. I roll play everyday with my babies, I treat them like if they were real children. I change them day and night, I make sure they have a bottle on schedule like a real child would. They have almost more clothes then I do lol. I enjoy and love this beautiful hobby, but most of all I adore my babies. It makes me a happy reborn mom. ❤️

I was just insulted about my dolls three days ago. I was away at a family function on a lake because my daughter was home. I was staying in a cabin which I had a hard time with because of the dead animals mounted on the walls for decorative purposes. 😨 When I mentioned it to an ex-family member, she replied that it was no different than being at my house with "all those dolls staring at you." It was in front of several people who agreed with her. I was insulted and explained that there's absolutely no comparison as I didn't kill innocent, beautiful animals for the sake of a trophy, and my collection is works if art, which they all found quite hilarious. They obviously have no idea about the dolls we collect and assume they're dolls that toddlers play with. Personally, I think many doll collectors are women who have strong maternal instincts, and these dolls bring us back to that special time when our children were newborns, or feel like the newborn they wish they had. I’m 15 almost 16 and I have a plush doll that I found on eBay back in September of 2023. His name is Diego and he’s 8 inches tall. I will dress him and comb his hair and yes, I will role play with him. I love Diego so much, that I sew him clothes and I even make props for him out of paper and cardboard, like a set of headphones, a cracker bag, and even a hair dryer. I understand that he’s just a plush but I will most definitely role play with him. There’s no limit to our imagination 👐🏻🌈 (imagination rainbow hands)

Tasha, you haven't changed a bit since I've been out of the scene for a couple of few years. Maybe there is something to what you say about this hobby keeping You young, lol. Since I returned, I see silicones everywhere. So... I had to purchase my first FBS and oh my, the realism and feel are unbelievable. Silicones take this collecting to a whole different level. I've often explained my collecting to others by asking "what is the difference between collecting Snow babies or other figurines that you display throughout your home". You buy them and look at them because you admire the artistry. They make you smile. They may evoke a memory. Women have collected porcelain type dolls or special edition barbies in the past. And what about grown men watching other men in tights and helmet running around with footballs, baseballs or basketballs? Aren't they too old to be acting like children? Men even buy all the accessories the ball caps, t-shirts and bobblehead dolls. They collect trading cards, jerseys, throw party's and purchase game tickets. They spend a lot of money on those hobbies. I think it's mostly the seeing grown woman interacting with what looks like children's plastic baby dolls of the past that shocks new viewers. But to those I'm telling them, some of these new developments in doll making would make anyone curious want to go up and touch it for themselves and pick it up to hold it just to see what all the fuss is about. And I don't mean a cheap made in China doll but check out a top-of-the-line silicone baby created by a skilled sculptor. Kind of like when home computers first came out, I really wasn't interested at first. Boy did I change my tune about that. Now just wait for AI to go mainstream. Ok, that scares even me.

Tasha i have 4 grown kids as well and helped with taking care of grandkids and trust me i know where your coming from in the hobby. I dont care who likes it or dont its my life and i am happy enjoying holding them and taking them out sometimes. my kids know how i feel about it and have gotten my granddaughters one of their own. thank you for another good video

Great video Tasha, Girl I have been MIA as far a creating videos for 3 years. I have been dealing with some serious health issues and just haven't the energy to do much. I watch friends videos but most of the time it is on TV and I don't then go to my lap top to leave a comment. I love you and hope I can start making videos again. Hello. I just finished watching your video on RU-vid. I really enjoyed it. I have two reborn babies and I play with mine all the time. I buy them clothes. I keep them looking very beautiful. I do have one beautiful 27 years old daughter. My fiance don't like them and don't want them around. I have two girls reborn babies and there ages are 2 and 1 years.

I don't roll play just not for me but I will hold them watch movies are change them they do help with my bipolar disorder

I do live in Germany Europe , nearly 63 years old , german - american , have 2 Daughters and 5 Grandchildren. Here in Germany are more and more Woman , wich are reborn mummys, and also videos on RU-vid. I have 9 sweet reborn Babys, and I wish to take them out with a stroller. I did it 3 times it worked good. People thought the reborn is a real Baby ;0) I love my hobby, and I am with you ! Why can MEN play their games, little Trains and plains a.s.o. and it is normal , that "the little Boy in him is playing ? I'm 74 in a few days and I talk and dress mine at least once a week and a fee every other day and I have 3 kids and 8 grand children fud have 5 sons list one back in 71 the other a couple of years ago. And I live my dolls, and really don't care what no one say

I love my dolls, Mine were made by Annie, she did such a beautiful job, I do not hold mine much now as my health is not good, but they give me such joy looking at them, most of my friends have mixed feelings when they see them.

Hi Tasha I love playing with my dolls. I like to dress them change them take them for car rides or even to the store. I hold them while I'm watching TV and sometimes sleep with them on my chest at night. You are right about one thing. They don't say things about men that play with cars trains planes drones racing cars and boats. My husband also has his hobby which is building things and using a laser machine to make different projects. So for me I enjoy my dolls while he enjoys his Hobby and then we come together and watch movies at night. My husband totally supports my hobby. He's even going to the Kansas doll show with me. This will be my first time ever going to a doll show since I've been collecting dolls. I don't do RU-vid videos but I do post pictures on Instagram and my Facebook page of my dolls. Great video interesting topic.

Let me ask this: is it odd for grown men to hold or play with dolls? I do because after a hard day’s work it calms me. Plus I change their diapers too

I am 54 and enjoy playing video games ( plus knitting and crocheting adult stuff) i think women collected dolls forever and a day..back in the day it was porcelain dolls they didnt have dolls like now..Women ( most women i would hope) Have a strong desire to be mother's..WE ARE MADE THAT WAY..Ive always told my husband men can never know truly whats its like to make a life and nurture it..and it just doesnt stop..And i do feel like these babydolls help women that have went through trauma from a loss of a child..Ive been actually thinking of getting 1...i just know me i wouldnt be able to stop at 1😂😂😂..
