I’m in the southeast USA. We’re blessed with mostly rideable weather all winter long but I’m ready for the nicer weather too. Lanzarote looks beautiful!
Hi Juliet, Hope you are OK and recovering well the sunshine should help. Weljel that you are able to get out and ride but totally sympathise with your need to take it steady and to be sensible. I'm currently in Gran Canaria, supposed to have been a weeks cycling holiday but a prostate biopsy put paid to that idea but the ticket was already bought. So hope that you continue to get stronger, take us with you and remember your not alone. Many thanks, Ken
A great video Juliet! It’s great to see your enthusiasm 😄👍 I so want to ride my bike! Thanks for making this video, any chance you could show how you packed your bike for the trip please? I would’ve hired one there, but it never feels right😉👍
La Graciosa is a really nice chilled out island and on my only visit I saw sand, deep sand at that, for roads. The taxis are 4 wheel drive land rovers, so I'm really not sure about cycling there. I'm sorry that I can't help more with gravel routes as I'm riding roads only. There's a massive mountain bike scene on the island and if you ask any of the groups out and about, I'm sure they will point you in the right direction. Good luck with your recovery and I hope you enjoy your stay 👍😎🚴
An alternative way to La Graciosa is by sea kayak, look up Sea Kayaking Lanzarote, Sarah will help you with info about the Island as she and Juan run kayak trips there regularly. (Highly recommended). I’ve done some mountain biking from Costa Teguise, have a chat with the folks in Evolution Bikes, they will suggest routes which may be OK on a gravel bike. You rode past the shop in your video. Have a great time on Lanzarote.
Miss Juliet, Glad you made the right call by not competing. Relax, enjoy the islands and build back your endurance. Lanzarote is awesome looking. Thank you for the post.
I went to Lanzarote for a week over Xmas and took my gravel bike (Lauf seigla) I was based out of playa Blanca but had a fantastic time exploring the trails all around there. Followed the coast a lot which was a great mix of twin track and single track but perfect gravel riding. Had a few rides exploring in the mountains but felt it was right in the edge of the bikes capabilities. I ran 700x50 Hutchinson tundra over there which were bulletproof. Definitely want to go back this Xmas again.
I'm a month late, but excellent video! We're expecting snow this week, early April 2024. Love your style, and I'd love to see more Vlog style videos! Cheers!
Definitely the place to be in January ! 🌞 🌊 God wish I was there too, I'm hungry for an entire day worth of cycling up and down the island, better yet if there's something long, steep and challenging. Hope the fun continues and enhances even more for you in the ensuing days ahead 😊
You're staying in the exact same hotel I was in last April. Enjoy the buffet. Great chance to experiment (yorkshire pudding with lasagne was interesting). I was on a road bike so I don't have any useful tips...
“This is going to be a really annoying video if you’re stuck at home in the UK”… not for me cos I’m at the other end of Lanzarote and yes, the roads and views are amazing🚴♂️😊
I went through a phase where I felt like my immune system wasn't working, like you, sick lots of times in a year, then I leanrt about supplementing with Vitamin D and C - what a huge difference! Much better now. I also eat multiple garlic cloves per week, reduced my sugar, and extended my fasting window. I con't believe the difference it made. I hope that helps.
Looks like 7mesh has a wide variety of rider wear with many options no matter what you ride. My goodness what a beautiful place to ride. Thanks for the video Juliet.
