Woah man! I didn't get any notifications of your uploads over the last few weeks! Awesome work brother!! One of your best! Watched it several times. :-)
I got you in a stranglehold baby, get it, get it, get it, yeooow (awesome toms fill follows). other than that missed snare fill during the double kick interlude...perfect
Awesome, Tool's drum patterns are some of the hardest for drummers to play and easy to mess up! But this guy totaly nails it at 4:09!!!!! Check it out, watch again!!!
I have to say I don't play any musical instruments at all so I know for a fact I can't fully understand/appreciate how hard that would be to play let alone play it as flawlessly as you did. You absolutely nailed it and made it look so easy......
Thank you, my friend! The top is 14" Zildjian A Custom Hi Hat top. The bottom is a 14" Zildjian A Custom Mastersound bottom. The stand is a Pearl Eliminator, two legged.
Nice job sir. Are your cymbals cut out? Like around an incipient crack? If so, how do you cut them (what tools) and do the cuts avoid further cracking? I have tried a few methods (e.g. drilling out the tip of the crack) but they don't ever seem to stop crack propagation...
Yes, they are cut out for that reason. The drilling the crack edge or just a bit off of it I find it doesn't really work (like you found out). I used tin snips (used for cutting sheet metal) and cut at a very wide angle (narrow = easier to crack), slowly and with some muscle.
Thank you! The three toms (8-10-12") are clear Evans G2 with Remo Ambassador on the resonant side. The floor toms (14-16") are clear Evans EC2 with Remo Ambassador on the resonant side.
