The safety shield is not in the right place, it leaves your thumb and hand exposed to serious injury, please read about where the safety should be placed. No guard at all is a serious accident waiting to happen.
This construction site thing is what I don't understand. Everyone expecting to make such a cut has at least some sort of circular saw. If they do it rarely it will only be a Harbour Freight quality machine but they will have something for that purpose. Carving, OK, but there are already carving blades that are more sophisticated for angle grinders. I just don't understand what it can do better than another tool. Well, If you normally don't work with wood you could have one with your angle grinder in case anything came up. They are less than $20 after all.
