This song got me through alot of hard times back when it released and I was still in school. For me it was always just about keeping focused on keeping going, and having hope that it'll lead to better things in the future. Things may be awful in the present, but things can change. Sometimes all you can do is be patient.
If there were no desire to heal The damaged & broken met along..... This tedious path I've chosen here , I certainly would of walked away by now. & I still may I still may. I MUST KEEP REMINDING MYSELF OF THIS. Never has a verse explained how I felt when I couldn't even put my own words to explain how I felt, at that time, than this. I know the people that will miss you the most are the ones that love you✌
I've watched a lot of reactions, but the enjoyment you two have is infectious. Your affection for each other is also always up front, as a special moment that affects you is immediately followed by smiles and eyes on the other person to see if you're sharing the moment. Really cool to see.
Tool. The only band in the universe that has 99% of there songs over 7 minutes long and after 7 minutes you wish it was only half over. Its that damn good.
For two years I’ve been on my spiritual development. Ive been listening to this album since it came out. This is the first time that I can say that I deeply get this whole album. I literally meditate to every single track. Mind, body and spirit just like the cover shows.
Honestly the more you listen to this one, the more you're gonna like it. The bridge section that transitions into the final chorus is such a ride and every member is performing at their max. Truly a masterpiece that so many sleep on.
They dont have even 1 bad song.....since the very first time I have listened them masterpieces after masterpieces.....i loved every songs they played so far......30 years later and soooooo good....
Yo, you guys still have a bunch of tool songs left! Schism, 46 & 2, H., Stinkfist etc. You should also do a car days revisited and do Rosetta Stoned, Jambi and Parabola again
Lost keys/Rosetta stoned is an absolute masterpiece! Musically and technically insane.. the lyrics are a bit out there but hey it’s tool after all 🤷♂️ Top 3 of my all time favourites
In my understanding, this song is about Maynard's mother, Judith, but you should also keep in mind, that Tool nearly always writes all of their songs with multiple perspectives in mind. Know mindfulness, and know Tool.
This is the song I listen to every morning right when I wake up ❤️ everything is hazy and I’m still in a dreamlike state, but this slowly wakes me up. It’s like a cozy warm blanket to my ears. It’s indescribably beautiful
One of their ultimate best songs . I have always got into it with passion , depth and amazement for its complexity + unique musical arrangements . The way the Chorus kicks in is so powerful . The CD Album art design was also one of a kind . Thanks again for the authentic sharing
I’ve been here with y’all from day 1. And what I appreciate is the sincere love of the music. But, If there’s any Tool song I beg y’all to re-listen to along with the lyrics it’s this song. It’s helped carry me, and many others, out of that deep dark hole we all find ourselves in sometimes. Therapeutic!!!
Great reaction and got you a new sub! The best thing about this album is absolutely nothing about it would lead you to believe it’s 20+ years old. The production, themes, riffs, musicianship, imagery, and everything else about it is TIMELESS.
Thank you guys, this is my fav. tool song. ….I would LOVE if you guys would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to Puscifer “Bedlamite.” ….it is so pertinent to what’s happening now, and yesterday. It will really make you feel like phosphorescent desert buttons. ❤
Ahh, I love this song so much. I discovered Tool a few months after my father died of Alzhiemer's, and this song was really cathartic for me. The message and emotion in it was really relatable to what my family went through. Crazy how something that touching and beautiful can also be so heavy and nasty. (Good kinda nasty, ofc) But that's Tool. One of a kind band, up there with the GOAT's of music. Awesome reaction as always.
WOW - I had a similar experience with my Grandfather who died of Alzhiemer's in 2002 - he was going in and out of consciousness in the hospice and in a moment of clarity he sat up with with tears streaming down his face from his wide open eyes and he told my cousin "we're all children here" - this album especially lines like "Embrace this moment, remember We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion" helped me get through a lot of that time and grief (he was the first of my grandparents to die).
Wings for Marie does that for me. Still get tears in my eyes every time. Right there with you on how the music just connects and helps to get us “beyond,” whatever that beyond might be for the listener.
Awesome vid as always! I think you haven't reacted to "Eulogie" by them. That would be an awesome one to react to off the AEnema album. Killer track, incredible.
It's crazy you guys don't listen to this stuff just so you can make a video for us! I appreciate your sacrifice! I bought this album years ago after first really hearing Tool in a Guitar Hero game. It still took me a few years to fully appreciate the album because I wasn't really into metal yet. I didn't really even realize that Tool was metal because they sounded so different. Love this song and the whole album now, though. I listened to it for the first time in a while yesterday after another RU-vid reactor I like started getting into Tool. Funny coincidence you guys did this one. I need to get her to do Opeth now...
Favorite Tool song for me. I was 13 when I first heard it. Picked a cd from a friend's case while traveling home on a bus, and I was not prepared for what I would hear.
I literally do not know what to say looks like you guys are having a great time I'm glad the two armies accepting these two awesome people into our existence cool is just an enormous immensely great band and I'm glad you guys are enjoying it
Not only partial because of the subject matter, but one of the few songs he does harmony (canon). So unique and gorgeous. I’m so so glad they all had the sense to let him do the harmony. It’s pure gold!
I smoked SO much weed to this album. I remember going to Best Buy and getting it. This one was a life changer. The album cover came in a trippy 3D slipcase too, lol.
would have loved eon blue apocalypse with it, but this is such a great song so powerful, so beautiful, so heavy i love listening to music with you guys
Just got home from an intense workout session and thank goodness for the Lateralus album, I made it through. The emotional adventure it takes me on even after having listened to these songs on a daily basis for the last couple of years, is indescribable...
Hey, Guys! It's amazing to see your reaction videos for all Tool song! They will be playing in Budapest on 24th of May and I will be there! Cheers from Hungary! ;) Adam
I got a main theme of alchemy when reading Maynard’s book. Especially when he talked about three being a number of stability; (where he goes into noticing a stool having three legs causing it to be stable) which he later applies to his art and it’s relationship to business.
Alll I can do is.keep asking... Please. Mastodon - Tread Lightly and Seabeast. Also. Since I know you guys are Deftones and Tool fans, do Passenger by Deftones Featuring Maynard.
Great reaction! I would like to see you both react to more similar prog metal/post metal bands like Intronaut, Isis, Cult of Luna. The best first time listen I would consider to be Fast Worms from Intronaut's Direction of Last Things album. So Did We from Isis' Panopticon album. In Awe Of from Cult of Luna's Vertikal album. It's honestly worth venturing through the entire album for each of these kinds of bands.
How about some old metal .Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver by Judas Priest off the sad Wings Of Destiny album.Rob Half odds vocals are absolutely mind blowing on that track and the song is a rollercoaster ride. Thanks for the Tool reaction.
Hell yeah! Great choice for a reaction. Definitely enjoying your content over here. Tbh, the both of you are in my top3 of my top5 when it comes to RU-vidr music reactions. So honest and unabashed feelings and reactions to the vibes currently surrounding your auditory senses. Great stuff. Keep them coming.
Just saw this a couple months ago live. It was incredible! Adam absolutely kills it. It's clearly about caring for his mother. I don't know why more people don't mention it along with the other more well known songs about her.
I'd love to hear what you guys think of the band At The Drive In I think you guys would enjoy them quite a bit... start off with the track Cosmonaut! Enjoy yer guys' reactions!
