I have a 6x12 trailer and I have to say this is one of the best tool trailer videos I’ve seen. Ton of great ideas which I plan on implementing in my trailer. Thank you for the walk through
Very nice trailer this is the kind of contractor you want on your job site. If he takes this much time on his trailer you know your going to get a top quality job.
Didn’t see any PPE dedication, not being a safety sally , just want people to realize the long term effects of being in the trade. Thanks for the video 👍🇨🇦📐
I liked hearing; this is our Festool Skill saw. I've been cutting Hardie shingles with a Festool skill saw and diamond blade and like the dust extraction benefit.
@@ozarkhomepros The owner wanted to weave the corners so we need 87+ - degree cuts at each corner so the guide rail gives a straight edge. Woven corners look nice but are very challenging and slow. So with all the cutting and dust from fiber cement I got the battery festool carpentry saw and set up a table on the scaffolding, I used a dust extractor which is huge benefit. Also have a dust bag for cutting where the dust extractor and hose are not practical. dept of cut is very accurate and easy to set. you have to use a diamond blade so I found a blade made in U.S., the festool diamond blade was not available at the place I looked. the long tracksaw guiderails will work with the festool carpentry saw the blades and riving knife on the carpentry saw are thinner than the festool track saw but you can use the thicker track saw blades on the carpentry saw. I've installed KDAT treated select pine and cypress bevel siding and it is much better to install than fiber cement. Wood can endure longer I think as long as primed and painted all six surfaces. Really like your organization in the trailer. Its so easy to clean up and to mobilize when you know exactly where something belongs. sincerely F.H. Hamilton Carpentry
Thanks for taking the time to film this. I use similar carts from an old Fine Woodworking article and plan to use some of your ideas, I will give you full credit of course!!
Nicely done. I also have a 7x12 trailer, albeit rear barn doors. I work in the city a lot and often park on the street so the ramp won’t work, but since I never use the side door, I built a cabinet in front of it for a lot of extra storage.
I just hope you have some good insurance or some good security on that thing I've had some friends that have had their trailers emptied while walking into a luncheonette... And of course a real good tracking system should the whole trailer manage to escape yeah that's too nice of a setup to have anything happen to it it almost reminds me of my old Junior high School wood shop where the teacher was a stickler having every tool back in its designated spot at the end of the period definitely the only way to go
awesome setup, i too am a festool/milwaukee guy and just revamped my truck with systainers, kaizen foam, and a much more organized system. really like your work table with slide outs for the table saw....think i'm gonna steal your idea and do something similar. keep up the great work!
I'd love to see a walkthrough or pics of you ir trailer with kaizen foam. I recently got into festool systainer a and kaizen foam. I'm really liking the sys 4 drawers
Really nice set up. I like the library door set up. I did something similar with my trailer and I agree with utilizing the single caster. I used 2 thinking it would be better but I am going to change to the single one.
Thanks for the "heads up" on the roof height. I'm getting ready to order a trailer and was wondering if a higher ceiling was worth the extra few hundred bucks it would cost.
This trailer sort of reminds me of a plumber that I saw on this Old House many years ago where he had an 18 wheel trailer that he used in the Los Angeles area and his rationale was that once he got to a job he never had to go back out onto a crowded highway and spend way extra time going to pick up anything he had everything from boilers to toilets in that vehicle which allowed him to just keep on moving without having to hit the supply store
VERY CLEVER ! You need more views for sure. I love the portable sustainer towers. I was also thinking about doing all my tracks and levels on the ceiling, I’ve been on jobs where I can’t open the ramp, my next trailer will be bigger so I can have a bigger side door when needed. Check out my trailer walk through if your into something other than a Paulk plan. As much as a deeply appreciate what he has done, and I have all of his plans, I really like to see innovators like your self more. May your work be tighter, faster and more profitable with each job you complete. Most of all, HAVE FUN!
Thanks Kevin! They are the same height as my Kapex stand. You can find the plans to build them on TSO Products website. tsoproducts.com/plans-drawings/tsc-90-systainer-cart-plan-set/
I offset the table to be resting on one end of the centipede so that the weight of the saw wouldn't cause it to tip. I haven't had any issues with it. Great question though.
I bet you guys didn't realize the answer was right in front of you but as far as not having enough room in that trailer who better to add a another level to that trailer just go up another 8 or 10 ft and there you go. Should you need more construction advice I'm always here 🤨
Very nice set up and great selection on your tools. I hope you keep that locked up inside your shop when not in use, as where I live, it would be gone in no time.
I have Apple air tags hidden into my tools and my trailer so I can track my trailer and a few select tools if they ever got stolen, I installed an alarm with keyless entry, as well as a second alarm made by dewalt called mobile lock on the trailer that you arm and disarm with text message on your phone. If someone takes the trailer, tilts, moves it, or tampers with the alarm itself, it vibrates, it will call your phone and send you a text message. Most importantly, I installed an inverter, batteries and exterior lights that I run every night on the exterior of the trailer that prevent someone from trying to mess with my trailer. Last measure of security will be a nexar dash cam that runs in celular that I can monitor my trailer with from anywhere with motion alerts and automatic recording to the cloud.
